I named my cat KeeKee (or Kiki) just because I suck at cat names. But he seems to enjoy it.

    Another vote for Winston.

My cat's name is Kiki too! We should be cat buddies.

    Haha sweet! *hi5*

Totally looks like a Rupert to me.

No, this is what a Rupert looks like.

I always tell myself that if I ever get a cat I'm going to name it Chairman Meow.

You mean, it's not biting you but it's kind of nibbling? It's playing with you. If you don't like it then put your finger down there when he's nibbling on it (not too far or anything, just a little bit).

Cats are not always "trainable" but they can usually take a hint.
    yes the word is nibbling.

he is a nibbling fiend at this point. but he is getting the hint a bit. though it sucks a bit when he nibbles my beard.

think we are leaning towards Sigmound at this point for a name

Nibbling is definitely an age thing, as long as it's not biting. If you dislike it, or if he gets rough, hiss at him (seriously). He'll very likely stop and either lick where he was biting (as if to say "oh sorry sorry here all better") or he'll just stop. But he will most likely outgrow it, especially if he's young enough to be teething (which he might be).

Technically, unless he's pedigreed, he's "just a cat" or a DLH (domestic long hair, since he looks pretty poofy in the picture). His coloration is called "blue point with white," the blue point is because that's what gray is called (it's a sort of slate blue on cats, and different from silver/gray), and "with white" describes the paws and nose/chin. White coloration is pretty interesting on cats because of how it "wraps" around cats, but he's just got a little white. As a point of comparison, here's my blue point balinese (traditional).

    bixby3.jpg

you can see how the pointing covers the entire paw -- that's what makes Sigmound a "with white." His mittens are an easy clue, but as he gets darker he'll probably have more white patches that show up, which should give him a pretty interesting coat pattern :D

So pretty! I never grew up with longhair cats and now I just can't get over them.

I second the Chairman Meow name as well. I heard it somewhere a long time back, and even though it's probably been done to death, I still love it.

"Has anyone seen the Chairman? Mr. Chairman! Get down from that counter right now!"

I'd actually venture the guess that the kitten in the OP is a medium hair.

He's fluffy, but I don't think he's fluffy enough to be a long hair.

I have a short hair and a medium..the difference is incredible. Both still shed like it's going out of style though...little fuzzy pricks.

Ok, since everyone loves pics of cats and dogs

have some more 2 weeks post bringing home kitten

Clara the dog and Sig the kitten seem to be getting along

    IMGP0368Medium.jpg

they enjoy being lazy but get into arguements over stealing the covers

    IMGP0362Medium.jpg

So sig will leave for the floor

    IMGP0354Medium.jpg

    or play some Wii
    IMGP0353Medium.jpg

But maybe he tries to be Clara a little too much

    IMGP0363Medium.jpg

Though it doesn't help with the indignities of a crazy pet owner

    IMGP0371Medium.jpg

no respect for the noble kitten

He he he seriously though I vote Kiki or Chairman Meow. If I ever get a kitty his/her name will be either Vladimir Poopin or another awesome name already suggested in this thread: My Attorney. It's oh-so clever! :D
