I am going to go see Iron Man now.
In my head I will pretend that Scooter is Tony Stark and Ghostalker is Iron Man and it will make the movie that much more wonderful.

So is there a speed limit on fly? I'm trying to figure out how to make Fly as fast as possible for a level 50 character, willingly sacrificing good set bonii for + to travel power speed bonii. And then I'll probably want to do the same thing with super speed :p Cause i have more fun in the game screwing around with travel powers, than I do doing missions :p Just like in GTA i never do missions I wait till my friends have unlocked everything then steal their saves, and just cruise around. This of course means I need to focus on at least two characters, and get them to 50 to do this, but that might be doable.

Well I believe green? SO wise 4 slotting fly caps it but 3 is close and superspeed caps at 2 slots(level 50). It might not even cap anymore at 4 slots because of ED, I can't remember whether I read this before or after ED. Also swift gives a bonus as well now..you can figure out all the numbers from that I guess. I'm sure someone here actually knows the actual cap point but I do not.

    Let’s talk tech: Contextual dialog

Finally, I’d like to talk about some new tech for missions we’re rolling out this issue: Contextual dialog. Contacts can now know specific things about your character or the state of the mission you’re on and give you appropriate dialog to match it. I think almost every new story arc uses it in one way or another.

For example, in the Origin of Power arcs you talk to a representative of each of the five origins. When you get to the contact who is the same origin as you, he or she will have more in depth information for you regarding your specific origin. This new tech also allows for us to make NPCs in instanced maps feel more like actual contacts in the zone. We’re now able to change their dialog depending on events going on in the mission. A great example of this is the Sybil you speak with at the beginning of Imperious’ first mission in Cimerora. She has three different dialog states depending on where you are in the mission.

This tech actually has the potential to replace our current system for handling missions. The design team has a couple of other ways we plan to use contextual dialog but we’re going to have to keep those plans locked up for now.

Thanks for your time. I hope you enjoy the issue. If not, it was Positron’s fault.

Different dialog based on your origin? I don't know how to take that. First, its nice to see that they're doing something with origin besides using it to base enhancements off of. But on the other hand to add another layer on team building for missions, ie, digging for a mutant because you need specific mutant text from a contact, seems very crappy.

Eh, They're not likely to do anything that *requires* any particular origin. They have a game build around a flexible team make up, they aren't going to compromise that with this.

Yeah, I imagine the missions are identical just the text you get is different. Just like the major missions in Mass Effect, they were always the same but you'd get different dialog based on your characters origin, class, and previous interactions.

Sorry, just my mind went to KotOR, and having to play the game 4 times through with different genders and light/dark paths in order to really see everything there was to the game.

    *shudders*

You're all probably right, I can't see them doing something like that.

It's currently not possible to cap your flight speed in-game under your own power, unless you are:
    • A Kinetic Controller, Defender, or Corruptor who uses Siphon Speed (in which case you'd likely be skipping a travel power altogether and using Inertial Reduction)
    • A Peacebringer running Quantum Flight
    • Using the GvE jump pack while flying, which boosts your flight speed to the cap for 30 seconds

And there are no set bonuses that apply to flight speed - only run. It also doesn't help that even at the speed cap, Fly is still incredibly slow, and is still easily outpaced by just about everything.
And then I'll probably want to do the same thing with super speed :p
An runspeed SO/mid-to-high-level IO in Super Speed and Sprint, and then the two run at the same time will cap you. If not, it'll put you close enough because Super Speed at the run cap is nearly uncontrollable, especially in missions.

I'm pretty sure there are set bonuses for +fly. I swear there are a few IO sets that, usually with the 5th IO in the set, give a bonus to run, jump, and fly. Also Super Reflexes gets a auto power that boosts run, jump, and fly speed.

Oh yeah, I guess there are a few movement speed set bonuses. Then yeah, you may be able to cap flight speed that way, though it'd be kind of a pain.

It still doesn't help that Fly has by far the lowest max speed in the game. Oh well, I only use it for concept characters anyway. :|

Fly is also the travel power that is the least work. Get some altitude, point yourself towards the mission door, press autorun, go get a drink.

Can't do that with any other travel power.

For people with connection issues or like to multi-task while they play, Fly is handy.

Yeah, I like the thematics of fly and the fact that I can hit auto-run with it. Also maxing out speed on a Hover melee character is pure fun.

I hope Champions gives more freedom in how much you can improve travel powers. I want super speed flight, dang it. Just make me pay for it.

Also Iron Man is the best comic book movie ever. ...especially with Gear Girl as Pepper Pots.

So, is there some other way to get the Efficiency Expert badge after you fail one of Pither's missions?

I had a Council guy that I think was stuck in the wall for the second part of the Wipe out the Council base mission. All I could see was a leg, and I couldn't target it, but it was moving. Explored every inch of that place, killed everything I saw, got both bosses, planted the bomb, and then couldn't complete it in time.

I petitioned, but of course, no one actually responded. I'm sure they sent me an automated email or some bullshit like that.

So, I'd still like to get the badge, if it's possible. Is there another way?
