The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I know its early and its grapefruit league and doesn't matter, but goddamn, the O's losing to the Marlins 16-3 yesterday is downright depressing. It is going to be one long ass rebuilding year.

Year? Try 4-5 years. The O's are gonna suck for a while now.
I still don't watch it but I congratulate Baseball in being the least homo sport ever. I remember when me and my friends were younger we went to Tiger Stadium nearby because a bunch of pro teams went there for spring training and we'd always catch balls that got poped out since no one inside paid attention to them.

I say more like 10 but who's counting?

Once Angelos finally sells the team to the ownership group that Cal Ripken Jr. is a part of, it'll be all good.

Luckily, my favorite teams (The A's and the Rockies) usually do pretty well. I love going to ball games, and playing baseball, but fuck me is it boring to watch on tv most of the time.
edit: Also, that means the local AAA team (The Sacramento Rivercats!) will be starting soon! Farm league, woo!
my hope for the rockies this year is solely for them to remain contenders, which i think they can handle since the only major asset they sold off was Matsui
if i have to listen to a years worth of announcers talking about our fluke of a championship season, i'm gonna be fucking pissed
I got so pissed when, in 2001, people had the audacity to say that the yankees deserved the AL championship and the world series championship because of 9/11.
I was like "this is baseball, not the fucking oscars."
Butters, do you support instant replay in baseball?
It's tough to say. I am definitely against horrendous officiating and incredibly inconsistent strikezone calling. Is instant replay the only solution? We've got that box thing on TV that shows where the ball went exactly.
But I would hate for the game to go the way of
After further review of the call in question the call on the field stands...ball two.
I support replacing the umpires with robots. Heck, just replace everyone on the field with robots. No more messed up calls, no more players that don't try hard, no more scandals, no more shots of dudes adjusting their cup and balls.
Failing that, i want a team of Manny Ramirez clones.

BOO! YOU SUCK!
I definitely like the idea of technology calling the balls and strikes. That seems so much more efficient to me.

Brian and I are going to the new stadium when it opens.
God baseball is so fucking boring
I swear the baseball offseason is like 3 weeks long.
trading pretty much your entire farm system for one last hurrah. It would be very interesting if they pull it off.

Read a book, read a book, read a god damn book.

It's not their fault. It's the MLB's fault.
Seriously, it's going to be awesome.
my dad and brother have been yelling "fix" ever since
So drunk.
So love baseball.
Are your dad and brother on any medications, or were they before this behavior started? No, it's important to have complete charts in these cases.
they treat sports like certain people treat spaceships
plus i think some of it was just to take the sting out of our horrific showing in the series
Is that a city in the Midwest?

I'm feelin it
I just don't want the Braves to disappoint me again this year.
Don't do it guys.
My heart can't take it for a 3rd year.
You're out, Loften!

I don't think I'll ever get over my dislike of that ball club, its just something I gotta do, its as much of baseball as the game itself.
I was like "this is baseball, not the fucking oscars."
in like, october?
it's got a longer offseason than basketball and hockey
