GOOD NEWS. I'm not working tomorrow. Totally doing the midnight opening. But I gotta unpack my 360. Luckily I kept the box so I know where it is. But I have to pack it back up in the afternoon

Interesting day for me today.

I get a call at 8AM from my boss telling me I was scheduled to work today. I thought I was scheduled to work Tuesday, but instead it was Monday. So I was about an hour late for work. However, I can now play GTAIV all night and all day tomorrow. I also got Crysis for $35 today.

Fun day.

I usually avoid GAF, but the 360 v PS3 GTAIV thread is hilarious!

The two versions look so so close that the level of detail which is being argued over borders on the absurd. But hey, when it comes to the game of the year "slightly more pop-in" and "marginally smoother indoor framerate" vs "slight visual edge" and "630p with different post processing" becomes an epic battle. Despite the fact the only real differences are exclusive DLC vs motion controls. (Although Achievements are a minor factor, as is the lack of PS3 rumble in Europe, I guess.)

Even funnier when the reviews have said basically "buy whichever version your friends are getting" because the game is so fucking good we should all be over the moon to be blessed with such entertainment.

I wish I'd gone for the midnight launch, I'd have it now.

You can go in, however they hold all pre-orders for... either 24 or 48 hours. Gamestop's are notorious for only getting enough copies to fill their pre-orders, however with a major release like this they will undoubtedly have a few extra copies... however they have known for the past week how many extra copies they have, and probably have been pushing the pre-orders...

anyways, to sum up, you probably have a shot of getting a copy, but you will probably have more guaranteed luck walking into WalMart and picking it up there.

I just discovered my GameStop where the game is pre-ordered is in fact doing a midnight launch. Huzzah! It's just too bad I have to wake at 6am and be to work by 8. Fucking 45 minute commute.

Downtown Toronto. Heading over to Best Buy near the Eaton Centre for the official Xbox Canada pre launch party, then to Futureshop to see how their PS3 version launch party is going. Both locations are about a 2 minute walk from each other. :P
