    I keep prevaricating about getting a 360.

I was planning on blowing some of my "I quit smoking money" on it, but I bought a load of bike stuff and a new computer. Now I've built up enough again that I could get a 360, but then I could also get further bike stuff.

Wow, the story of Overlord was written by the daughter of Terry Pratchett. She's just as crazy, apparently.
I found the Overlord demo very... flat. If that makes sense. She's doing some other game writing I think. I just can't remember what. It came up in G&T at the weekend.

    That makes no sense.

And yes, she's also writing on Mirror's Edge, I look forward to that game, if only for the art direction.

get it anyway, mr. money bags.

I really don't have time for a lot of games, though. I've had four games for the past year, managed to finish two, I'm playing through the third right now, and haven't touched the fourth.

Oh, my total is bigger. I forgot Madden. So, I've played and 'finished' Madden, GTA IV, and HL2. I'm playing Mass Effect, still, and Halo 3 is in its collector's box.

    Forgive me, Bungie.

    PC's not good enough, unfortunately.

There doesn't seem like enough game there for me to buy it, on my budget, though. If I can get it bargain price (Like, fifteen or twenty bucks) on eBay or something I will.

Why Rick Perry? He understands that in a flagging economy, it may be a good idea to begin courting the games industry in his state. Texas has a growing game development community, and Governor Perry has begun to offer financial incentives and grants to encourage game developers to set up shop.

"Governor Perry and the E3 Media & Business Summit are both great success stories. The Governor's keynote address is especially timely given the high concentration of entertainment software developers and publishers in Texas as well as the state's long-standing support of our industry," said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA, which represents U.S. computer and video game publishers. "The Governor's forward-thinking leadership in encouraging the growth and development of our $18 billion industry is a roadmap for other state executives who want to transform their state economies for the 21st century."

Unless you're involved in the business aspect of gaming, this isn't big news, but Rick Perry is a very solid choice to begin the summit. It's great to see the ESA and members of the government work together to make the industry stronger, and Texas makes a great success story in this regard.

His support of games is kind of incidental I think. The incentive program he funded was largely aimed at films, but happened to include incentives for commercials and games.

He probably hopes that this coverage brings attention to the film side of it.

I don't think he did. They used his idea, but he had left Bullfrog by that time. That might explain why I didn't like it as much as Dungeon Keeper 1.
