What issue is that
I read for a while when it started, stopped for a while, then picked up again briefly after the OYL timeskip.
I honestly can't remember who was writing it.
I'd like a story arc or something that's pretty self contained really. Do any Dixon-written ones come to mind?
Yeah, it was pretty good.
And the Detective Comics issue I'm thinking of is 826.

nope
Am I looking at the right one?
Robin: A Hero Reborn : Good story with him and Lady Shiva doing some cool stuff.
Robin: Flying Solo: Collects some of the same issues as the above one, but has more issues further into the series too. I'd probably recommend Hero Reborn of the two, but either one will set you up well.
Robin Year One: Deserves mention for being awesome, even though it's Dick, not Tim. Tim Sale did the art!!!!
The entire Batman: War Games: Pretty good series, sort of Robin-centric (although focuses more on Spoiler)

Yes it was. Still wonderful though.

Cool, thanks, I'll have a look at these.
I remember that I was reading Batgirl and Nightwing and no other Bat-books at the time of War Games and not knowing what the hell was going on.

Tim Sale did not do the art for Year One, Javier Pulido did and it's awesome. It reminds me of Darwyn Cooke but more detailed. It's still an awesome book.
Really though, check out any of Dixon's Robin stuff. It's best to start at the beginning because he uses stuff continuously throughout the series.

The joker arc was terrible.
The current arc "The Bat and the Cat" which just ended was just sort of silly fun. It was enjoyable, but it was not ever a comic I would take seriously.
You need to take it seriously? I thought Bat and the Cat was pretty refreshing really, what with all the melodrama going on in the main titles.
Oh and you forgot Bedard's "Wrath" arc, it was pretty good.
I mean, I've read 52 and she's been in FC: Revelations, but other than that, she's practically not even a real part of the DCU. She never shows up in any regular monthly books. Seems like she's contained only to special events and limited series. I really like Renee Montoya too. They need to put a good writer and artist on a new book and have some sort of a Bat Woman / Question collaboration book.
She was an old character I think that got ret-conned...
Checking Wiki...
Here's the opening from Wiki
Although Batwoman made a number of appearances during the late 1950s and early 1960s, declining sales of both Batman and Detective Comics led to the editorial retirement of the character. When Julius Schwartz became editor of the Batman related comic books in 1964, he removed non-essential characters including Batwoman, Bat-Girl, Bat-Mite and Bat-Hound. Kathy Kane is later killed and her existence as Batwoman in the DC Universe is retroactively erased by the conclusion of the 1985 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths.
The modern incarnation of the character, Katherine "Kate" Kane, first appears in week 7 of the maxi-series 52 (2006), operating as Batwoman in Gotham City during Batman's absence following the events of the seven issue miniseries Infinite Crisis (2005). The modern Batwoman is written as being of Jewish descent and as a lesbian in an effort by DC editorial staff to diversify its publications and better connect to modern day readership. Batwoman's sexual orientation has been both criticized and praised by the general public and the character has been described as the highest profile gay character to appear in stories produced by DC Comics.

I like Rucka and he usually is given a pretty good artist to work with. I wonder why they didn't release it. Too controversial maybe?
High profile is hardly the term I would use, considering she isn't even around most of the time. Right now she's just a character that makes cameos in limited series. She isn't even the lead character of the limited series. She's just a freakin' cameo character. Hardly high profile. In fact, I would say Grace is a much higher profile character, because she actually appears in comics.
I doubt much of DCs readership gives a damn about a character who thus far has the following traits of note:
Lesbian
Is often a damsel in distress for Renee to rescue
White FC: 0819 3350 1787
I'm just saying: She is a real character. I wasn't sure what you were asking based on your original question.

Have they said who the artist is gonna be? or when its coming out?
Grace isn't gay, she's bi. Besides, when has she ever had a higher profile than Renee?
As for the Batwoman book, didn't they officially announce at a convention that it's coming soon?
