Ya, obviously you don't want to make it to easy. But with all the other crazy quests they put in, I don't see why its so much of a time sink for the programmers. Look at all the BC quests they made. Shit, half of them never get done by most people. Look at all the friggin long ass chain quests in Shadowmoon. Theres only about 2 people I know that have done all that crap. Why can't they just cut some of that nonsense out for quests that people would actually want to complete.

I'll never understand why the Gnomes are completely incapable of taking back Gnomeregan. The highest level mob there is like level 28.

The funny thing is the handful of Gnomes in Ironforge could easily take it back. Hell, the High Tinker could solo the whole thing.
It's still not quite as bad as the Trolls, though. They've been evicted like 3 times already. The first time was by murlocs. The most recent time is a non-elite level 10 who's not even in an instance or anything. He's just standing around outside. Random players can kill him before even figuring out where Orgrimmar is on the map.

When I started my Troll DK on the beta, and had to do the "A special surprise" quest, killing zalazane was mentioned to try in an attempt to break my character out of the lich king's control. Apparently according to wowwiki, while gnomeragan is mentioned in the gnome version, it's apparently still fallen

Now that we've seen a few more poses and everything, I have to say: Is it just me or does that Sylvannas model have some amazing detail in it? I mean, look at the coloring, the shading, the highlights in all of the pieces of armor and everything that seem to give even flat areas a bit more relief. It's really one of the most impressive models I think I've seen in the WoW engine.

Edit: I suppose I should correct that a bit and specify, one of the most impressive displays of texture work for a model.

This is another reason I really can't wait for WoW 2. I want to see what the art directors can do when they're not limited by catering to decade-old machine specs. I'm getting tired of seeing the only really impressive armor changes being limited to the shoulders and helms.

That's madness. If people can dye their own gear, how will we be able to tell the difference between a guy in 1500 rating PvP gear and a guy in 2100 rating PvP gear? What, you want Blizzard to design unique models for these things? That's crazy talk.

I would even settle for set color paterns for things. Ya get a piece of gear and you can choose between 3 different color patterns. That would seriously be good enough to make me enormously happy.

And the really annoying thing about this is that they actually do this already, more or less, they just don't put it into practice. Check the image files on wotlkwiki sometime; so many weapon and armor models have a ton of different colors for them, yet only a small handful are ever actually used in the game.

I don't really mind that we can't choose what color our poop is.

But just make the poop color coordinated and not fru fru queermore and make at least one set that utilizes orange and black, and one set that utilizes crimson and white

    italics

Really though. Use the same looking armor models and wepaon models willy nilly, AS LONG AS THE LOOK GOOD FOR FUCK'S SAKE

I remember dying armor when I played Asheron's Call. You would change something with a ugly combo of colors into something that had 2 shades of the same color. And of course the most popular color was Black so if you were lucky enough to find the plant that created Black Dye you could set your price and people would pay it.

I remember how disappointed friends of mine were when they found out that you couldn't dye armor in WoW.

In EQ you could dye your armour. At first it was only bullshit crafted items with no stats, and stupid to farm mats. Like, 10,000 zombie skin, for green or something equally as dumb.

Then it was just expensive mats, for an RGB slider to dye any piece, craftable by Alchemists.

My shaman made an absolute killing with that.

The problem in my eyes to dying your armour is, there are two types of people who play MMO's.

People who dye everything all black, and people who eat a 1lb bag of skittles, throw it up, and use that for inspiration in their dying. There really is never a happy medium. :(

    Okay, then eliminate black altogether.

You will still have idiots dying everything as dark as possible, like grey or something, but guess what, we still have retards running around with the name SephirothX too so whatever. At least there will be SOME variation in the coloring of armor, as opposed to now where everything is exactly the same.

It's for the best that you can't dye your armor in WoW. Atleast with pre-set colors you get some variation. With dyes, all you'd get is people wearing black, black and dark red, or pink, because apparently making your character wear as much pink as possible is funnier than Dave Chappelle.

That's easy to solve. Have a checkbox in the options to show or hide dye'd equipment colors.

Anyway it's not like a whole lot of the armor already in the game isn't black/red and pink/purple.

I really don't see cosmetic armor options being a high priority any time soon, but if you want a glimpse at the possible future, look no further than Lord of the Rings Online. They have a pretty extensive system dedicated to cosmetics, which includes being able to cosmetically equip armor just for looks, with two tabs for different outfits, and armor dye with a few colors, some good and some not so good.

Surprisingly, not everyone is running around in black! (though it does tend to look cool in some cases) The dyes that people want tend to be expensive, too.

In some ways, yes...some ways no. I'd really like to get my main an epic flyer and get my alt to 70. However, it seems like more and more people are taking breaks or refuse to run vanilla instances (especially if you're sub-70). This grinding/quests on my paladin is killing my sanity.

I'm just waiting for 3.0 for the achievements. It'll be a nice outlet for my OCD. I've already spent the last couple weeks trying to get a head start on "Loremaster of Kalimdor" and "Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms". Plus there are all those pointless old-world factions to grind rep with. Timbermaw's up next, and after that I'll shoot for exalted with Steamwheedle Cartel...

I've played beta for a few weeks and found I was mostly just submitting design suggestions, not bug reports, anyway.
