And some Cajun faggot

IGN article about Spider-Man Noir

Basically it's set around the Great Depression, and is more of a 1602 than a What If story
X-Men and Spider-Man start in December, Daredevil in January, and Wolverine later in '09
I've heard some murmurings that the names of characters and their powers will be taken more literally
For example, Cyclops is a pilot who lost an eye, Rogue steals people's identities (their lives get it) etc
I'm super pumped for this shit, who's with me?

OP will be updated with more teaser pics as I find them

It should be very cool right? Could they bring the Kingpin in for a series? I know he'll probably figure prominently in DD, but I rather enjoyed the Kingpin series a couple years ago, so I could see him maybe (HOPEFULLY????) getting his own solo series.

I'm curious but I have enough on my comic plate as is and thus looking foreward to additional titles, series, etc is hard. At least for my wallet.

But I'll be happy to check out the x-men noir's.

I'm well aware of the term "noir". But noir comic books have already been done, and in black and white. I stand by my Marvel Sin City comment.

Holy shit I just realized that's supposed to be Spiderman. I'm actually having a hard time making out what he's holding though. Can't even really see where his hand ends and the thing begins, but I thought the traces was just smoke.

And I'm really pumped for this, have been ever since the first image came out and the rumors started. Although I gotta ask, isn't Daredevil: Noir kinda redundant?

Sin City is the only B/W noir comic that matters. Any attempt at making one since is borderline copyright infringement and lacking imagination. There are no news stories to be told in that sort of setting.

Daredevil I think will be the easiest transition
X-Men is gonna be a little weird
Also that picture of Spider-Man is captioned "This is Spider-Man" and yeah it looks like he's holding some kind of grappling hook launcher
    That's not smoke that's a rope

There's a big difference between gritty, very realistic noir set in its own little world
And Marvel noir set around the Depression

Man, that's like saying star wars is the only space movie that matters and any space movie afterward lacks imagination and nothing can be done with it.

    That's stupid.

EDIT: damnit dude, now I look like an ass.

David Hine is responsible for almost fucking up the Inhumans with his "started out good but holy shit got bad fast" Silent War story. He also wrote the Two-face issue of DC's Jokers Asylum 5 part story but I didn't read it.

He also does Power Pack, and one of his first indie successes was a superhero crime noir called Silencers. He also did a very enjoyable little story called Hotshot and Mighty Girl.

Don't worry, the book's in good hands. Van Lente's one of those guys whose work I always look forward to reading.

That really just looks like a gun with smoke coming out of it, not some sort of grapplegun thing.

I'm still really hoping it's some variation of Fantomex, even if that's ridiculously unlikely.
