The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
This comic is a delight! I love the expressions on the poster. Tycho in panel 2 looks like Theodore from the Chipmunks though and that's the first time this "tooth controversy" has ever really had an effect on me. Everything else looks just fine.
Though I don't really get how Tycho can not understand the strategy of getting new people into games, I mean they've been doing this sort of thing for a while now, the Wii being only the most-obvious example. They themselves have shared stories of family members playing games when they do not usually partake in video-gaming.
Peter's still a nut. Why would the casual crowd care about a free-roaming, medieval role-playing game with magic spells and shit? Isn't that exactly the type of game that non-gamers think is stupid?
I had way too much fun with fable. Of course i had no expectations going in because the first time I even heard of it was when I walked into my dorm and 3 people were in there playing it on my roommates xbox.
Hopefully the second one fixes crap that did bother me about the first and it'll be just as fun.

It just seems like a faux paus to cater to what isn't your demographic.
I mean, I doubt the people who don't play games abstain because there has never been a game like Fable 2.
the only way to get people that don't play games into games is to place them into some sort of Saw scenario where if they don't eat all the cheetos, drink all the pepsi, and beat the entire game of sonic in 15 minutes then you cut their thumbs off or something.
I think Peter is trying to get people who've never even SEEN a video game to play this. Like they will start it up and go "Oh my stars! There is a world inside this magic box and when I press these knobby things on this-here magic stone it controls that chap inside. Now it is speaking to me and making the sounds of animals!
This is certainly the greatest of game one could ever dream of! Far better than chasing a broken-out barrel ring with a stick that is for true!"
So, essentially, Peter Molyneux had created the first video game for the Amish demographic.
what we need is a video game that uses no electricity whatsoever
Somebody get to work on some kind of gravity-powered puzzle game. Maybe incorporate some springs! We could have a version that is made of wood and mimics baseball!

I entered the first one with extremely low expectations and enjoyed it, so I'll do the same with this one!
I think that is this comic's sole point.

I think you're confusing Scott Kurtz with someone else.
