Blech.. so you have to pick up a bunch of stupid shit to carry around, and then every time you run out of one type of crap, you have to tell it what the next thing it's allowed to fire is? That is horrible. Like I don't carry too much crap already.
You can also load it with certain zero weight junk. My next Big Guns character, 'Money-bags' McCoy is going to be head shotting Raiders with his fat wads of Pre-War Money. :winky:
Seriously though, I was already kicking so much ass at that point I'm not sure which perk I preferred. Besides it fit the description of my awesome rifle-toting wasteland vigilante justiciar. The fingers were so worthless, I didn't even sell them. It was the symbol of the act, a testament to my sheer bad-assitude. If I could've, I would've used the fingers to create a bone ring for my cowboy hat, like Crocodile Dundee, except instead of crocodile teeth, it's asshole's fingers.
You're evil? I take your fucking finger and put it in my hat.
I wonder if you can load fingers into the Rock-It Launcher...

Now that's what I call giving them the...ugh nevermind.
The lawbringer coat would have been better if it layered over other clothing. Which makes sense, because nobody runs around in just a coat, well expect my slutty vaulter.
Deathclaws are horrifying without the dart gun. After that its almost sad how easy they become.
True but I usually don't run around with it, if I do I just start playing some sort of kiting game with every enemy and fun as it is I kinda like the gun-play more.

Actually since I found The Terrible Shotgun I can take Deathclaws out quite easily without ever reaching for my dart gun. Pretty crazy damage! Pepper them from range, stack headshots when they get up close.
Although my 'strategy' was to backpedal while screaming like a girl and wailing on the monsters with a minigun.
Haha yes, I have emptied sooo many magazines at the corpses of these things due to just holding the trigger down until I am 100% sure that fucker is DEAD.
It's funny, until I hit Old Olney, I thought they had nerfed the monsters in question...
Because before that the only DeathClaw I had ever run into was near the Wal-mart type store, and its legs were apparently already crippled by the time I got there because it hobbled at half the speed that I run at.
Someone earlier bitched about how the Rock-It launcher loads, but they were mistaken. It loads through a two-way inventory screen, just like a trader or a safe. You put everything you want to shoot into it, and it shoots it until it runs out. Your ammo display will show you how many things you have loaded.
It is something that I could see myself using on a much harder playthrough. Either modded to be difficult, or where I force limitations on myself. As it is, there isn't any need to scavenge items for ammo, so while the idea is great, it's too much work given that I could also massacre everything with my hunting rifle.
I'm being side-tracked by WoW, but it's amazing just how long I've played Fallout, and yet I haven't even seen many of the places mentioned in this thread. It's pretty amazing.

Special encounter.
There should be a dead wasterlander next to it with the schematic for the Deathclaw Gauntlet.

Okay it may be better then I gave it credit for then, though with the amount of ammo in the game at this time there really is little reason to use the Rock-it launcher.
With the game taking place 200 years after the war I would have loved to see a higher emphasis on home-made weapons, like home-made rifles, pistols (these exist in Fallout 2 aswell) and so forth and not just home-made gimmick weapons.

Oooooh, that doesn't seem quite so bad then. It looked to me like you just loaded it with one kind of thing and when that kind of thing was empty, you had to load it with another kind of thing. Just shoving a bunch of different shit in it sounds a bit better.
While loaded in the launcher, does said shit still weigh?
I know its listed in the OP, but I can't find the fucking Family.
I got to the trainyard just fine and combed the entire area around it methodically and there's nobody. Just a lean-to with a bunch of toolboxes at the trainyard and nothing else worthwhile. Where the fuck are these guys?

You know those big things that rise out of the ground, where trains go? There's a door inside each of them. If you accidentally end up at the other one after going through one, go back in and take another path.

And remember, they're booby-trapped.
Yeah I explored both the tunnels. They just connect with a thing in the middle in a U shape, and then there's a path leading south back to the mire-whateverthefuck cave. Nothing else in there as far as I could tell.

FUCK! You're kidding me.
I didn't see the wastelander, and I got killed by a mine and had to reload from my last save... and when I went back, the Deathclaw wasn't there.
Looks like I blew my chance to get it. =(

But I'll take another look.
If memory serves, turn right at the mirelurks, and go past the train.
Check your local map if you're not, you should see a path that you've missed. They're in there, I promise.

Tip:
Follow the flaming barrels. In several of the underground areas, they set up flaming barrels to lead you in the right direction. There's a narrow path that goes beside one of the trains. Check your local mini-map for extra help.

Well it's not the only schematic for that weapon, so you can still get it, though ofc more schematics = a better weapon :P
So I went to the National Guard depot and reached a locked door that needs to be opened elsewhere. Do I need to search around for another area or am I missing some really obvious switch?

Yes, you need to go through the unlocked door into the next area, offices I think? Anyway go all through there and the next area you will come back out into the first area, on the other side of a ledge. I missed it the first time but there's a switch there you can pull which opens the locked door.
