I'm sorry, the correct answer was Jack Chance... we were looking for Jack Chance...

    That's a joke, right?

Is that some kind of counter argument? Are you seriously belittling Jack T. Chance?

I really hate that Geoff Johns felt the need to give Jack Chance, of all people, a tragic background just before killing him. He really missed the point of that character.

That was on JL/U, and that was because he was a Marine in that so he used his ring in the quickest and most efficient way.

In comics he's an architect (and I think McDuffie retconned him to have some military background) that literally builds his constructs from scratch. I think it's in the Sinestro Corps Special (the first part of the War) that you see him building a gun from all the individual parts.

But yeah, as far as personality goes, they don't really use/write him much so it's kind of hard to like (or hate) him in the comics.

Is there any benefit to building constructs from scratch as opposed to just imagining a gun thing that does the same thing anyway?

And does having a ring enhance a person's imagination?

No benefit that I'm aware of, it'd just be the way his mind works. He's not comfortable with just summoning this gun shaped thing that works just because he believes it works. Yeah, he did create all the parts, but there's the firing pin, there's the trigger spring, it works because it's a mechanical device that he put together.

I know he's an architect... he designed the new Warriors bar on Oa. Doesn't make him less boring. His shtick is still bubbles and guns... Kyle once made a fucking battle ship, and a bunch of cartoons to fight Fatality.

You know though, Mask, there's probably some interesting stuff coming up with John Stewart in GLC. Fatality has just become a member of the Star Sapphires and, upon awakening, is seeking him out. There's a lot of potential there.

Oh man, there should be a scene where someone is like

"Lantern Stewart, you're outnumbered! Do you need support?"

    and he's like

"I don't need support when I've got this strut." then he dance-fights them.

Oh or he shoots a beam through someone and when they collapse he says "I guess that was a load-bearing organ."

Really, I feel like all the Lanterns would be improved if they spoke exclusively in puns related to their profession.
