The new movie series takes what makes Batman good, Robin, and surgically excises it. Like a shambling lobotomized horror it jerks about before falling the ground in a weeping heap begging to be put out of its misery.

And god damn, Modern Thor should be the main costume!
Some of those are great, and far better than the standard game costume - but what the hell is up with Luke Cage? And Penance? Why not give us the Speedball costume? Might not match the powers, but at least we could pretend he wasn't Penance.

It's been a long time since I read the comic, but there are definitely scenes in there that are pointless and made up for the movie. But the acting is what really kills it - the movie never feels scary or suspensful, because every actor seems bored to death for the entire thing. The handful of actions scenes are blurry, and you can never tell what's going on - it does that rapid cut thing and never gives you more than a brief glance at something before the camera jerks to another angle. Whiteout was a great graphic novel, but the director and actors butcher this and make it seem like an awful, low-budget thriller with no originality.
On the plus side, Kate Beckinsale is the hottest woman alive, and the movie opens with her in the shower. So the first few minutes are good .
