    Moving to the DC area this fall, about 5-10mi NW of Capitol Hill.

    I'm going from $950 a month for a 2/1 apartment with two living room areas, and upstairs deck and a nice kitchen to $950 for an efficiency if I'm lucky.

    Monroe...if you move to the DC area you don't have to live inside DC.

    It's so easy to get into the city from one of the close "burbs". Also, cheaper.

    I was paying $890 for an awesome 1 bedroom 1 bath place within walking distance to the metro and all kinds of cool shit while living in Northern VA.

    Well yea, you're moving into a major city, that's how it usually works unless you move to the ghetto.
