Hello AC, how are things with you?

I've been trying to make myself draw at least a comic a week since late last year, and having gotten sick of deviantart i made a website!

But that is beside the point, as what I really want to know is whether you cool cats could please instruct me in the fine art of arting. I know its pretty much a stick figure comic, but I'm hoping others can point out things i need to work on, things I'm missing, things i need to remove entirely, stuff like that.

I've changed style a little bit since the first one (which i hope is noticable because i hate the way the first few look), and I'm trying to force myself to cut down on excess panels. Do you guys think 6-8 panels is reasonable at this size?

Also somebody pointed out recently that the comic was getting into "talking heads" territory, so I'm trying to change things up a little more by throwing in 'props' and changing viewpoints a little. Is it noticable? Any tips on writing 'funny' would also be appreciated!

Reminds me of a less crude version of Polkout.
The writing is great. Granted the drawing is rudimentary, but it does what it needs too so it doesn't matter.
It's all thumbs up from me.

I hadn't seen polkout before, but after reading it that is totally what i was aiming for. Indeed the drawing is rudimentary but i'm glad it works, phew

I like your six-panel layout. It makes the comics look like single page comics.

What I would prefer is when you have 4 regular panels, and only one panel on the bottom, have that last panel be as wide as the two panels above it, so that each row has a uniform height and width, but they vary in how many panels they're divided into.

    Fletch,

Have you read Robot Dreams? Outside of being a totally awesome book, I think the layouts used there will give you some ideas for flexibility within your own comics. She also uses three rows at a uniform width.

Even if you don't buy it, the Amazon reader previews'll give you an idea of it.

The drawing is rudimentary on the surface, but you the bits where you get a bit more.. complex with your lines are still awesome while managing to stay integrated with the rest of the style. They are also funny, which helps :P

butlers fighting to the death gladiator-style is a very distinct gag. if you really want to pull it off, you'll need more than the dog treats gag to differentiate it from Family Guy.

It's true they did, it wasn't exactly the same gag, and it was pretty brief, and a long time ago, and to be honest I only thought of it because Manon mentioned it.

So I just read all those comics. I like most of the ones that are out there. Sky whales was entertaining, the Butler gag was done with Stewie but, how can a fight to the death NOT be funny? Mainly I just like the back and forth. The whole comic seems kind of like Cyanide and Happiness. Which I loved at first, and have slowly started to hate. Especially when they do flash videos...
