Buster vs. The (Disney) World! (Now sexually explicit for Penguin Incarnates )

As some of you know already, after a whirlwind seven year courtship, my girlfriend and I finally become old and boring

The perks of getting married included
Delicious cake

And getting to go to Disney World
459418289_12b3f3ffaa.jpg

Tomorrow we'll be taking a flight, first to Cleveland for her brother's wedding and then Sunday we're going the rest of the way to spend a week in Orlando.
We're both really excited, she's never been on vacation and I went to Orlando when I was eight and haven't even been to Disneyland in ten years. I wanted to stay at the Polynesian Resort because I'm a sucker for faux tropical decor and exotica music but since it's the most expensive resort to stay at and we wanted to stay more than three days, we'll be staying here
wdw-resorts-ak.jpg
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Which will be pretty awesome since we paid extra to get those Savanna side rooms
So there's a chance giraffes will come right up to our window

I got a lot of preparation to do right now but I'll try to update with our own photos soon

    Hey, congrats Buster.

Also, there are plans being made for a long weekend in Disneyworld. We did Land a month or so ago and it was kinda lame compared to World.

Magic Kingdom is fucking amazing. I spent pretty much the entire day there with a giant grin on my face.

Might try to hit Universal at some point though, because it has decent rides compared to Disneyworld which is more about attractions.

Congrats Buster! That cake looks all sorts of good!

This is as good of a place as any- I need Honeymoon advice. We are getting hitched in December... the week before Christmas. Where should we Go?!? I have never been to any of the Disney theme parks, but I imagine they might be out of season in December?

We also can't really afford to leave the country due to both money and time constraints.

    I'm thinking Vegas- suggestions?

    where's the fun in that?

also, about animal kingdom - it's going to be balls-hot and there isn't a lot of shade in some parts of the park. the solution is to keep going on kali river rapids - you will get very wet :winky:

we went twice, and the boat keeps spinning around. despite the fact that my friend sat in a different place the second time, both times he and he alone got blasted in the face with water from an elephant.

also, the barmaid population at that pavilion is evenly divided between homely women in their 50's and very busty blondes in their 20's.

I was in Vegas 2 weekends ago and we had a blast. Keep it to 4 days max, though. By day 5 all anyone wanted was home or death.

    Also bring money.

I would say the REAL fun if you're not a big gambler is Universal/Disney in Orlando. We went first weekend in December 2005 and that might have been the most fun we've ever had on a trip. People from that part of the US think it's fucking freezing if the temp dips below 60 so we had the parks to ourselves. I went on the spider-man ride in IoA then got off and walked right back on, no line.

There's a Ghiradelli Ice Cream Parlor at Disney Downtown
You best believe we're gonna hit that

Yeah, I'm getting married in... 3 weeks from Saturday o_O

Anyways there's not much point to vacationing from Winnipeg in the Summer, so we're going to wait until probably around the beginning of December, before the holidays start and go down to Orlando and do the parks again.
