I had that bug yesterday too. I destroyed about 60% and died. When I came back, the destroyed parts were still destroyed but my "Rig Damage Bar" was back to zero. The actual "area percentage" was back at zero too.

I destroyed everything else and it only brought me to under 50% and that was it.. I had to abort. I never went back to see if everything reset. It might be borked for good.

It worked fine for me after I aborted. So, anecdotally, it should for you too.

Did an Ular Boys mission last night, so quick but so right.

    Target: Uncooperative Political Figure
    Escort: 1 vehicle convoy
Rico Loadout: 1x Revolver, 1x SMG, 1x Rocket Launcher

    Method:
Stunt jump from chopper to escort vehicle.
Grapple the guard to the rear car containing politician.
    Rocket said car.
Grapple escort to side of bridge.
    Parachute off into the sunset

All in the time frame of about 45 seconds.

I had to escort some dude in some mission last night.

He refused to get into my lovely helicopter.

So I tethered the motherfucker to the skids and flew his ass back to base the hard way.

I love this game like whoa.

You know that mission where you hijack the guy in the limo for the Reapers. Oh ya. I 'surfed' that sucker back into the Reaper dropzone. The beauty? I did it all while draging a police offers behind me. It was glorious.

The difficulty scaling in this game is just odd. I die quickly from generating minor heat while just messing around on the island, but I just managed to completely annihilate a stronghold takeover mission without losing any health.

To put it in perspective, I got the achievement for killing 50 soldiers without losing any health. I was using a pistol and grenades.

So I'm finally gonna start playing this soon. What's the best stuff to upgrade right away? The demo seemed heavy on pistol and SMGs lying around or dropping from bodies. Is it like that in the full game, because those would seem like the smart bets if so.

Pistol and SMG might as well be the only guns, so yeah, upgrade them.

    Also, grenades.

I liked that one. It went so well. Parachute grapple up to the bridge, land on car, plant c4, pull chute and watch the fireworks.

I think I'm going to install the unlimited ammo mod and just play the whole game with nothing but C4. That's pretty much my favorite weapon anyways.

C4 is the best. I did this Ular mission where I had to defend a temple that gets assaulted from all 4 sides, one at a time, by 2 jeeps and like 10 guys at a time.

I didn't even fire a single shot, I would just throw down 2 C4s and wait for everyone to cross my Line of Death.

It's really amazing. I had one mission where I had to kill some General. And as most people know, they dive around like crazy when you throw grenades at them. So I started chuking C4. And lots of it. I eventually had about 14 C4s in an area, and he couldn't hide fom them all. I detonated them all and he just got blown to hell. It was great. But then I was out of C4!

    The mod will fix that!

Stick with normal. I went Hardcore or whatever the hardest one was because I'm a silly goose for achievements, but I kinda wish I made an easier game for completion.

TBH, I thought those three ninjas were some pansies. I downed one rather quickly and the other two didn't get a chance to do much damage to me. Maybe it's the keyboard and mouse making it stupid easy to aim for the face.

Well, I figured out that it's probably not the best idea to try and take off in a jet going up an icy hill, facing a base.
I managed to knock over a guard tower as I went flying through the air. Minus my plane.

I've got a question for anybody who got JC2 on PC, with pre-order/bonus items. I was wondering how you get 'em, if they're in-game like SR2 (you pop open your phone in-game and dial a certain #) or downloaded from a website, through registration and blahblahblah?

Edit: And how's the signature guns? Is it like the first game, dual wielded with unlimited ammo? Because that would be rad.

Is there some kind of radar I can use while in a settlement so that I know where the destroyable and collectible objects are? As it is, 100%ing areas is extremely annoying.

There is a little radar thing on the upper left side of your mini map. The closer you are to a collectible, the more it lights up. When it is flashing, you are really close and should see a gray arrow on your screen that points to the item (the item name will also show up when you look in its direction). There isn't anything like that for destructible objects, so you just have to keep an eye out for them.

In addition to what Ratsult2 said, it's worth noting as well that destructible objects are generally all red, or have something red on them. So they usually stand out pretty good against the rest of the scenery.

You can definitely hijack choppers by grappling to them. Make sure you made your way to the front and killed the passenger; you can't hijack without doing both.

Maybe it was the angle from which I grappled. I was hanging from the bottom and couldn't do anything.

When a couple of military choppers get after you it gets hard in a hurry.

    you don't get it.
you always grapple the same spot. Always.
use the movement controls (WASD on keyboard, left analog on pads) to move to the front of the chopper. Kill passenger. Press E.
