Always play your win condition. ALWAYS. Doing otherwise is unfair to the host, any possible teammates you may have, and the player base as a whole.

For example, if you are a 'neutral', someone who typically has a survival win condition (live to the end of the game regardless of who else wins), performing actions that purposefully draw attention onto yourself for death is...unhelpful.

One problem, many of us find those who don't draw attention to themselves more suspicious, as that is a rather common mafia tactic.
Oh, of course. I find those who are just going along with the flow suspicious as well, but that bit was more directed at those who go out of their way to do crazy things 'just for fun' or seemingly without considering the full ramifications.

    Are you insinuating something?

    Day 0 - Classes Start

    2cps36w.jpg

Some hosts running games will provide you with music semi-related to the game to listen to while you read the narration. If you want to listen to something while you read the narration, expand the spoiler tag.

It was a fine autumn day at Phalla College and in fact it was move-in day for most. When will the dean of Phallas learn that they should let students move in before classes start, instead of expecting them to move in and make it to class in the same day? Most of the students already had their schedules set up, but the unlucky few still trying to fit the necessary classes into their schedule were positively livid at the long wait to get into the computer lab to sign up for classes.

Kime was sitting on the left wall in the computer lab trying to get into his classes.

"Underwater Basket Weaving 101 is full?"

Kime really wasn't sure how the school expected him to finish his degree when they only offered one section for all the classes he needed. Luckily he had managed to get into every other class he needed, but he would have to switch Underwater Basket Weaving for another class of equal credits if he was going to keep his phallaship for the semester.

"Hmmmm Phallamanship 101 has seats left.... this sounds.... perfect!"

Kime signed up for the class and now he would have to run all the way across campus to get there on time. Sweating profusely and out of breath, Kime just made it inside the door as the class started. Unfortunately for him, he would not get to stay in class for long.

"POP QUIZ!!" yelled the Instructor just as the students were trying to take their seats.

The rest of the students took their seats and pulled out a piece of paper to write on.

"True or False: Is Rainfall always evil?"

Most of the students were looking around in confusion, but Kime always knew just what to say.

"I'm cheating!" Kime yelled out into the class.

The Instructor looked up in bewilderment as Kime continued to spout self-incriminating speech that seemed to come off as nothing short of insanity.

"I'm a serial killer, I am invincible to the vote, I am evil, and Dac Vin sent me an invincibility role pm!" Kime would not stop spouting what appeared to be nonsense to the other students.

"I don't know who you think you are Sir, but get out of my class before I send you straight to the Dean's office. I never wanna see your face in here again. Now to the rest of you. Know that I do not tolerate cheaters and I will be doing my best to see you all gone from this class and out of this college. I will not have Phalla graduates get away with cheating!"

    The Dead
    Kime - insane - Day 0'd

    ______________________________________________________________________________________

The game has now started. You have until 10:00 PM EST tomorrow night to vote someone out. Everyone with special abilities as well as the mafia, also need to send in orders before tomorrow. Orders or votes after 9:59 PM EST will not be accepted. PM all proboard links to me.

And remember the most important thing, have fun!

Voting for yourself is a waste. Don't do that. It's either a throwaway vote to maintain the barest amount of participation if you do it repeatedly or if you're leading the votes and are innocent, it tells the village nothing as to who you individually suspect on your way out.

Oh yeah voted off as the revealed seer. Not my finest hour. I shouldn't have freaked out so much when people started to vote for me. I would have helped if DeShadowC wasn't being so blatantly evil and having no other villagers tell him off.

Oh well. I would say you learn... but I really don't :P

I get voted off awesomely, all the time.

    Couple Clarifications in the thread.

Tie votes will be RNG'd for now, but I think Dac Vin wants to do a different method for tie breaking that he will explain tomorrow when he is around if that is the one he will want to use.

Order of actions is as follows:

Vote -> guard -> vig -> mafia. The order of the seer doesn't matter because if they die at any point they will not be able to reveal it to anyone.

I personally don't use google docs because I like using functions that auto count my votes and adding fun drop down menus in each voting field so that the spelling for each vote is always correct and the auto sums always work perfectly. I am sure one of the vets who use google docs could point you in the right direction sometime tomorrow.

Oh, guess I'll do it right now. I experimented that mechanic in my last phalla and I guess it turned out well even if ties never happened - plus it removes a RNG element, so why not?.

Ties will be resolved as such: The player with the highest votecount before the tie dies. This apply with every situations, like if a vote was added on the second place, a vote was removed on the vote leader, or a vote was switched from the vote leader to the second place.

Tomorrow will be reserved for a surprise element I think wasn't in the original newbie phalla. Don't worry, it's not harmful.

Invisible mode, use it. Those saying it's not important do not understand the consequences and what a crafty player can do with it.

In the ALPHALLA set of games we had an Assassin style game. I wrote a program to help me stalk players and find my marks, putting real names to fake accounts. I was the only villager to be victorious that game because I was the only one to kill my marks and declare such to the host, exiting the game as the mafia won.

Going to work, gonna hold off on RNGing a vote in the hopes that someone might do something impressively stupid by vote close.

So McWeed, post-restriction or desperate love of color: you decide

    OOOOOooooOOOOOO

OS, :^: on the narration, was wonderful .

Hahahaha though, I win! You can't kill me now, stupid village!

    OOOooooOOOOOOO

(This is a ghost post, as indicated by the "OOOoooOOO"s that frame it. Typically, unless otherwise stated by the host, you can put in one of these after you die to cry out in rage or die gloriously or whatever. However, DO NOT give ANYTHING away related to the game. No "Oh by the way B:L is evil" (even though we all know he is :P), or "I know Orange Soda is good!"

These are just friendly ways to exit the game, but for all intents and purposes you are dead and cannot influence the game (or anyone else) in any way.

Just because someone is evil/good/whatever in one phalla doesn't mean they are always good/evil/whatever in every single phalla. Every phalla's different- what happens in one has no bearing on any other phalla. Voting someone out "because they're always evil" or "if 'person' lives beyond Day 'whatever', they're 'good/evil/a rabid cheezburger'." Voting someone simply based off of something like this just shows you don't have any idea who to vote for.

I feel obligated to say the following.

    Dude it's day one.

Oh god, I remember playing a version of this at a gaming convention... A lot of this, actually. We had some guy who decided to drag out the first day by 30 minutes. I kid you not. The new players in the group outnumbered the veteran players, unfortunately, and the jerk knew enough to sound important.

Those of us who had been playing awhile were ready to kill him. When night fell, I can't say I've ever been so happy to be mauled by our mafia/werewolves.
