This very exciting oldwebsite called Criticker lets you rank movies you've watched, and friend other friends of yours who also watch movies. You get to see what your friends like, hate, and you can even write mini-reviews! (I don't)
Can I claim credit for this thread ... as I was asking about just such a site (and the only response so far was criticker ) on the "Reading" Thread ... .
Anyways ... I'll probably end up working through the night(s) to update both goodreads and this one ...

Yes, definitely. jacobkosh and I have been trying to get other people in there, and after I saw your post I thought that more people might be interested.

Yeah, cause I am an equally big (if not bigger) film nut than I am a book aficionado ... so I guess now I can apply all my tons of useless knowledge about movies and fill the reviews at criticker with it.
Do you have any idea how many movies I've watched? Me, neither (working at a rental store for a few years will do that to you...).
No way I could even start on this.
Dude, it so easy to use! You don't have to search or anything. It just lists 25 movies for you at a time, and you can rank them all in that same page, and then click "more" for more movies. So easy.
I mean... unless you haven't watched many movies, and it'll just be a list of 25 movies you haven't seen. Yeah, don't use it, it'll be an exercise in frustration.
I'm Haphazard. Even on Criticker. Haven't updated it in quite a while though.
At least I hope Gim had the decency to rate some films he didn't like, yet.

Never.
I dunno, I wish I kept track of the movies I've seen better. I'll try to crap on some movies later. Like X-Men Origins. I'll crap on that. Does that meet with your approval, Mr. Hazard?

Let me get some tampons and I'll do my best Brando impersonation!
Just signed up too, so I'm still going through and rating movies. I always found movie ranking sites like this to be pretty interesting, especially when I compare the average rankings of certain movies to other sites like IMDB (Which is biased in the 6 to 8 range) or Rotten Tomatoes (Which seems to be a very "love it or hate it" site)

My problem, and the reason I don't have as many rankings as I should, is that I keep writing the little mini-reviews. I just helpfully described The Chronicles of Riddick as "not just horrible crap, but BORING horrible crap, like being anally raped by Tom Snyder." I like to think I am supplying a public service.
That said, I will catch up to you one of these days, Elki!

Sure, I've got time to waste and I love talking about movies. The number system for ratings is perfect for judging movies on a random whim. "Today nothing will get over 75 and tomorrow I will give Tremors a perfect 100 just because I feel like it."

I am friends with several of you already.
edit - MY problem is... well I already try and keep a list of all the movies I've seen in a spreadsheet, and then I check that against my netflix reviews.
now for this I'd hvae to do that plus try and balance the reviews with what I have on netflix... at least in theory. I don't ever see myself putting THAT kind of time in.
not really a problem so much as a possible week of my life that could go missing.

I am past 110 ranked movies right now ... and there is no end in sight. Especially since I am leaving out loads and loads of movies for now. Filling that list will take a while.
Biggest problem right now is finding an accurate rating system. I guess I'll have to go over it again, once I am done.

I'm Bogart on this, unsurprisingly. When I'm done arranging my goodreads by subject matter I'll get around to rating films.

All your years here, an elaborate set up as a plant for some movie review service.
Sad.

but they're listening to every word I say
Finally signed up. Now I have to rank like ... I don't know at least 1000 movies.
EDIT: Oh boy ... that system is awesome. I probably will sit hours upon hours in front of it and rank movies. Jeesh ...
Can someone explain exactly what happens with the "ignore"/"save" functions? Save seems to be "ooh, I should watch this"
