My concept is a half-orc barbarian who Fie (or some old wizardy type) took in as a ward. like bruce wayne and dick grayson. only, in this case, dick grayson is a half orc. barbarian.
Could the five of you post to check-in? Thanks. I'll have campaign details soon, I may keep some of it brief because my campaign guide is coming in this week so I may tweak and improve things a bit by the time we get rolling.
Post Myth Weavers sheets when you can, including adapted backgrounds. Streever has hired you all for an expedition, you will be starting off in a rather civilized area but that won't necessarily be the case for long. Level 4, take the appropriate magic items (one each of 3, 4, 5) and the starting gold you have includes your upfront "pay" while for Streever this is what you have "left."
bladecruiser, I suggest something along the following reworking for your background: You were part of the service, but after refusal to follow an unethical order you were discharged. Unable to work for the service any longer, you turned to mercenary work and find yourself hired for a research expedition.
Or something suitably appropriate for why you are ex-military.
delroland: You are the hired guide, as wilderness will be involved. You will fit in as is.
tastydonuts and deadonthestreet are already suitable for work like this, selling their services and hired to fill in the skills.

Here's the CB version of the sheet. There's much to be done though, as I'm not sure about the wizard's itemization. One of the implements (magic orb +1) I bought using the available character gold.
I went with battle harness... it's a +1 bonus anyway, and seemed to go with the character. I also like the free item/weapon draw. Fits in with an articifer who may be grabbing stuff frequently.
I was going to get the battle harness too, but it doesn't feel wizardy, even though Roe/Tibbs as Varitas runs around throwing bottles and illusions in an un-wizardly way. I may just go with breaching armor.

“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
Yea, I agree Donuts--doesn't fit the flavor well for your character.
What about Robes of Contingency?
I was really torn on magic items for my character--I think I picked decent ones in the end, but I would have loved more clock-worky/mechanical items. I wish they had a larger number of Eberron specific items to capture that feel.
ITEMS
Adventurer's Kit, Identification Papers, with Portrait, Opportunistic Greatsword +1, Battleforged Plate Armor +1, Brooch of Shielding +1, Belt of Vigor (heroic tier), Climber's Kit, Travel Papers, Rope, Silk (50 ft.)
Personality Traits
Loyal, honest, and dedicated. Responsible, trustworthy, and decisive. All describe a stereotypical Knight, and Matthias fills that role perfectly. Matthias will never knowingly betray anyone that he has befriended. He is quick to decide which course of action to take as he sees the world in black and white choices. He sticks with his decisions through the easy times and even when things go downhill and turn out all wrong. A childhood friend once told him that he was an example to set himself against for right and wrong.
Mannerisms and Appearance
Matthias is fairly meticulous when it comes to taking care of himself and his gear. While his hair is usually a wild mess, it's almost always to be blamed on the fact that he never rests until any tasks he has set for himself are complete. His mustache and beard are trimmed neatly and he makes sure to keep himself as clean as he can. He is well organized and keeps his gear in a "new" state at all times. Any dents or gashes have to be repaired at the first opportunity, no matter the cost.
He keeps at his relationships as vigorously as he does at keeping his gear in top shape. He visits friends and companions when he is not on patrol for the local guards or spending time with family members. He is kind to all he meets unless they prove themselves to be someone that needs to be taught the proper way to treat others. This has usually meant Matthias eventually gets into an argument with them until either a fight breaks out or they come around to his side of things.

Backdated Entry
I have acquired my updated Identification Papers today. It was an odd feeling to have "Mercenary for Hire" listed as my occupation after being a guardsman for so long. I still believe it is a right and just action to stand up to my former commanding officer in the way that I did. His orders should never have been given for they go against everything that holds this society together.
There is no reason for me to dwell on the subject. I go tomorrow to see if I can find work at one of the local taverns. Perhaps I can get on as a bodyguard. Morning
I make my way now to my most recent venture. I have been hired by a man who claims to work for a research group. I haven't heard of them, and the name wasn't unique enough for me to remember it. The man was a deva, and babbled on about being a researcher and not a wizard. I fear I shall never understand magic users.
The information I have been given about my job is thus: I am to act as a bodyguard for a group of researchers and accompany them whereever they deem necessary for their research. Why they would need an armed guard for a research expedition is beyond my reckoning. So long as I am paid, the less I know the better off I am. When I gather more information, I shall record a new entry in this journal so that if any ill befalls me, there will at least be something to warn off any who follow.
Just realized I forgot to save the changes to his myth-weavers sheet, so I'll do that when I get home tonight.

Background
Growing up on the streets, Lo learned early how to use his Changeling abilities to take on different personas. He is perhaps more comfortable in one of the alternate personas than he is as himself. Sometimes, he's not sure who he really is, aside from a thief for hire.
He's been hired by a diverse clientele, Fie being among them. He will raid a tomb or a dungeon, or break into a guarded room to steal what the client wants. And sure, sometimes he plays clients against eachother, stealing from one, and then stealing the same item back for them. That is why it is important that h has a different persona for each client, and never lets slip that he is a changeling.
To Fie, he is a human known as Wil. He is a bit leery of this new assignment, as he prefers to work alone, or one on one with his client. But, he needed the money, and Fie has always been one of his favorite clients.
Hey so instead of making my character on myth weavers is made a PDF? Is that ok with you? I can still do it on myth weavers if you prefer but I think a pdf is slightly easier to read.

Go with level 4, but there's still a small chance I'll change that.

The armor choices kind of suck... as I don't want to have two casters wearing shimmering armor. That just seems... redundant.

You don't need to type up the power text, just fill out the name and keep track of use with the checkboxes and it's all good.
