So some of my old friends and I are getting back into WH40k
I inherited a brand new army of Cadians from my brother, sold mah best bud my old Eldar force, and my other buddy is fielding a pretty cool Tau army
It's been like five years since I played, but I've been playin' that shit since I was about six, so it's rad as fuck to get back into
I'm fuzzy on the rules, never played fifth edition, and get confused by intricate stats conversations in other forums, but I'm slowly reacquiring an understanding of fifth edition
My cadian army is extremely infantry-heavy, but the infantry field a large enough variety of heavy weapons I suspect it could be a fairly effective force even though it lacks fast attack, and I have a Leman Russ and a Chimera
Do any of you faggots play warhammer

Dark Heresy owns.
Rogue Trader will own.
Deathwatch will own as much as it is possible for something to own.

all of them
that is warhammer and football combined
in the loving way one combines chocolate and peanut butter
you fuckers should play with me
and lose to my goblins
painting was 80% of the fun
fandy exactly how many tactical wargame threads do you need
fear the goblins
Building, painting, customizing, and converting models is what I love the most
I built a badass Commissar from bits tonight, and found a Warhammer Fantasy horse upon which I'm going to mount a melee-oriented Imperial guard character unit, and use the rough rider rules for him
because you can totally field a general on a horse
I've got a Land Raider to build too, and so many goddamn sacks and sprues of bits I can use for conversions and additions, plus some turf and terrain building material. We built some terrain and turfed it up tonight, tomorrow we're gonna paint and detail it with bits and probably build some forests to lay out a legitimate field.
two apparently
inquisitor?
Also, past threads got me really interested into the background of the Warhammer 40K universe, so I've recently read the first 3 books of The Horus Heresy.

Space marines are nice, but not particularly interesting to play
Plus in fifth edition they never break ever
The Horus Heresy books have really surprised me by not being written like ass. Especially Flight of the Eisenstein. That book was aces.
How far into the series have you read?

buy me a bunch of kroots
I've kind of just read them at random, I just borrow them from my local library. So far I've read Descent of Angels (which is a bit slow, but still a reasonable read), Mechanicum, Flight of the Eisenstein and Tales of Heresy, which is a short story collection.
read everything Abnett has written
But then my dad got real mad at me and threw away all of my figurines, I'm pretty sure he just wanted me to play soccer. I'm still not sure why he did it and I never got back into it.

maybe he was afraid they were making you gay
I loved cheapskate converting my miniatures
I fell in love with orks because I didn't have to buy expensive stuff, I'd go to the thrift store and buy some shitty unfinished model boxes and bang something up. Then I'd just cut up an ork to fit him in

I was never very good at the game I only did painting, I wasn't bad at that bit
I painted Eldar mostly because they are fun to paint
he's pretty ballin'
i cant be bothered to spend all this insane amount of money
Making the model is the absolute best part
This exists, but I forget what it's called.

as are Orks
and Chaos
and Tau
and the rest of them. 40K has the best armies in it. There are even some people who like necrons.
