nouns, verbs, adjectives, arranged into sentences...
but for fuck's sake, lady, not everyone cares about your world as much as you do
Yeah, it's a good book so far, I'm at page 600-something, but man, if those footnotes were the same size type as the rest of the book, I'd only be half way through it.
I didn't think there was anyone left that hadn't read Life of Pi yet!
Don't they give it out in the street in CA??
I have been putting it off for years!
(Just like watching Dirty Dancing, which I have also managed to avoid but for different reasons! :P )
I actually didn't like it all that much.
I didn't like that you [apparently] needed to have read what the author said about it in order to really "get" it. It's a very "book club" book, i'd be interested to see what you make of it!

Yeah, I'd agree with this.
I'm currently reading Louis Armstrong's New Orleans and the Taschen editon of Brassai's Paris.
See, that's exactly what I'm afraid of because of all the hype people have raised about it over the years.
It is, because they all want to just talk about what other people said about it. Because on it's own, it's not all that insightful or clever. Saying that, it's a nice read, it has a nice tone to it.
I didn't take anything from it, but it wasn't a terrible book.
Next will either be the third Dresden book, or Catch-22, or Hyperion if I can ever get it from my brother.

Also I just got a collection of CJ Henderson stories in the mail which I'm pretty excited about
I'm paring down pretty much everything in my stack that isn't short stories before the school year starts, because theoretically those are easier to read when I have all sorts of serious shit to be reading for class too

I just finished Why Evolution Is True.
I had not realized quite the depth of the evidence that can just be explained to people with minimal backgrounding in science. About the only reason for anyone who actually cares about the subject to be a creationist is willful ignorance.

What spring does with the cherry trees.
I do not wish to read it again because fuck 4-page footnotes in A NOVEL.
I enjoyed it, but I will agree with the sentiments that the second half wasn't as good as the first
Also the Escapist comic book that they published was pretty mediocre, all told

Does that make me Sweden?
nobody I talk to has ever heard of it

Is it ok if I throw that book at anyone and everyone who complains about animals in zoos? Is that an alright thing?
I mean, I already throw it at agnostics, those filthy fence-sitters.
I actually didn't like it all that much.

Any particular book you'd recommend?
Also do you or Orik have a Dashiell Hammett book you'd recommend?
i'm sure he's got a lot to like about him but i haven't been able to get through more than ten pages of any of his books
i think fandy likes him, though
Hammett's The Dain Curse is really good
Well I'll give him a try still I guess
But I still really enjoy Hammett
dude has more colons than bizarro munkus
