There's a lot of feral cats about, and about a year ago one of my roommates took it upon himself to try and tame one.
It worked! Sort of. His plan was to get her fixed and thus help with the kitten crisis but she got knocked up before the plan could be consummated. Whoops!
So I come home from work one morning to find that she has managed to convince everyone else to let her spawn inside the apartment. In hindsight, it was obvious that she was the one training us.
Now that the kittens are all weaned, she still lives outside, but now she gets free, consistent meals with no strings attached. Clever girl.
But five (5) kittens!
This is only three (3) of them. Not pictured are the all black and the male tux. There are no pictures of those two. The male is kind of homely.
We found homes for four (4) of them and another roommate decided to keep one.
That's really the end of the cool story brah.
This one was my personal favorite, but I am not where I can take primary responsibility for an animal as of yet.
At first she was very timid and easily upset, which set her apart from the rest of her rather easy-going and sociable siblings. A little bit of extra care really helped her warm up to people.
I was pretty sad to see her go.
This is the pretty one! There lots of pictures of her, and very nice ones (I didn't take those).
I didn't take this.
But I took it upon myself to take an unflattering picture of her.
Ha-ha
And this is the one we kept. Every so often I think about how strange it is that she was born in this apartment and has lived in it her entire life.
She's at my window right now. Actually no she's not she's bothering me now.

January is the best month. Specifically the 25th. It's a proven scientific fact.

I have been in a funk for almost four months now. And when I'm down, not even cute animal pictures can make me smile.
I am down. In a big way.
Fix this.

How about a ferocious lynx?
Or these guys!
Poppycock.
The only reason January was ever good was for the Superbowl, and sometimes, February usurps that right.
