I thought you meant photo ref to do an original painting from, not pictures of old pulp covers.
I am doing an original work, I just needed the man in the corner of that for compositional reasons.
Well if you would have just said you were looking for the man in the corner, I would have just thrown up a GIS link for Michael Stipe and we could have avoided this whole mess.
Wow, I feel like I'd like to take a week off from school, just to learn more about Maya. I keep on hitting these blocks where I'm like "oh! That would be really cool!" or "that would make this look so much better!" and then I realize there's a whole tutorial involved that would take me multiple hours to get through.....which is fine....but this is due in 8 hours and unfortunately the hardcore-learnin's will have to wait :P
But seriously this program is fucking massive and can do crazy shit and it's so fantastic and incredibly frustrating at the same time raghraghragh.
I've re-learned the benefits of saving every 10 minutes! Woo!

i know what you mean ND!
i have crazy amounts of scenes so i don't fuck up the one scene foerever. :P this is all for the one character i've been modeling. and i've only just begun rigging it
it's stupidly frustrating at times but also really rewarding when you see this thing move.
I told you guys I would upload a newer photo of my puppy and here we are. Taken 4 months after I got him, with a photo from the second day I had him for comparison.
He is 15.5 lbs in the early photo, he is now almost 70...with another 90 or so to go.

edit: btw I've been taking a class at Gnomon on modeling environments and it's going pretty well. It's taught by a guy on the Diablo III team and he really likes my stuff.
edit: and if anyone working on 3D has any questions feel free to ask.
Show of hands: Who would be interested in me showing some neat little things in maya over ventrillo and mogulus that would really help with game asset creation?

I doubt it, but any opportunity to reference Truck Turner is a good one

You better post what you ended up with after that emotional roller coaster.

Now that's some shit hot writing right there.
It ended up being the one with the apparent hotlinking transgression.

I'm afraid to ask, but are you okay?

Tam's life is one big wacky hijinks!
Looks like you just renamed your all your fetish porn movies with an .ma extension to avoid being caught by your significant other.

You know who knows a lot about Maya? Cologne Guy. You should totally hit him up.
Previous anecdote becomes 25% more amusing if I imagine the guy as a French-accented Pepe Le Pew type character called Guy Cologne.
"Mon cherie, would you like me to unwrap those UV's avec vous? Perhaps other things as well, non?" :winky:

Fuck me dead, the doors are locked. I might be spending the night at work.
What will you do?

(I've totally never drawn anything on a computer before, and this was pretty damn quick.)
Yeah, how are you Loom?

Flay, I enjoyed every pixel of that.
I'm sorry if you really did have to stay at work, Tam! That would truly be unpleasant.

But you gotta admit that the possibility of getting in trouble makes it more fun.
