Wii version's a rent, no online multi. It does have split-screen co-op though.

What's up with my statistics? I'm playing online and nothing is saving. I'm still at Intern Ghostbuster :(

Edit: Gotta be ranked, apparently. Fair enough.

Well for me it would be either the Wii or PC version so I'm not going to have multiplayer anyway.

If anyone plays through the Wii co-op, I'd like to hear about it. Nobody seems to be talking about it.

I played it with my girlfriend (who mostly just kept getting lost and teleported to me when I got too far ahead). When you're in co-op there's a second recruit (one male and one female - whichever the main player didn't pick when he started the game it sticks the other with).

Only really notable thing I noticed is that when you're wrangling a ghost, if you both lock on to the same ghost, you have to take turns slamming them to get them stunned, and then you have to be careful not to work against each other trying to drag it to the trap. I mention this because, when your partner is as aggressively bad as mine was, it's harder than just doing it yourself.

Thanks for the post. I think I'll need to pick this up for Co-op Tuesdays.

Eh... Three guesses where this conversation ends:
    "Left."
    "Left?"
    "Yes, this way."
    "wait, that way? What?"
    "This is left, that's right."
"My left or my guy's left?"
    "You're facing the same direction."

I don't know why people have problems with the Cherubs, I played that section on 360 on the Professional Difficulty and didn't die.

The sad thing is that line is actually very helpful to people who don't know which way left is in the first place.

So I was thinking this game would be fun just to go back and play it like a movie. You know go on easy and just enjoy the story? Well turns out I just want to watch it and not play it.

Grrr I love it but I also regret paying full price.

The ghost has to be stunned when you freeze it. Kind of lame and makes it impractical. If you're trying to get the achievement/trophy it's best to do this when you're on your own our your teammates are down. They have the habit of switching targets and either breaking a stasis locked ghost or wrangling a stunned ghost when you try for this.

Add GuerillaDust, I'll be online sometime after 9 midwest time

I really enjoy this game, and I'm amazed they managed to capture the poton accelerator without it being infernally painful to use, however, I wish it had been longer. But yes I do know its about as long as similiar type games like Gears of War and such, but I'm not trying to be a hardass, I just figured with an extra 9 months or whatever, I figured it would be a little longer, also having more of a separate story from GB1 would have been nice, but the fan nods were awesome and it all honesty they still somehow upended the liscensed game expectations.

So it has to be stunned before stasis. Thanks.

    That is kinda ass backwards.

Luckily Slime dunking is so fun and easy (as long as the ghost is at the correct angle).

Actually...once I discovered how easy slime dunking is I felt like the game was cheapened. I purposely avoid doing it if I can help it. So much more satisfying when you have to wrangle them into the trap with the proton stream.

You can also freeze them, then just throw a trap under them, then slime tether them. Then you don't have to worry about lining up the shot.

Oh man, I was trying to this later in the game and it was an absolute nightmare. I'd freeze the ghost, then by the time I could get the trap out my AI teammates would grab the ghost and not only pull it out of the way, they'd push it up into into space. Seriously, they would grab it and wrangle the bastard as high as the game would let them. I have absolutely no idea why they would do this but it was infuriating as hell.

Yup, yup. There are several places that are good to do this though. Any solo area with trappable ghosts like the mirror room in the library. I would also say any section where you are alone with Ray are good. Again places like the sorting room in library or the cemetery areas. Play on the normal difficulty, let Ray get downed, and then stasis a ghost into a trap quickly and then revive Ray.

Purely cosmetic complaint, but am I the only one who doesn't like the look of the upgrade proton pack? I mean, the original pack looks awesome, and the stasis upgrade isn't noticeable unless used. Just having all that extra stuff on the wands is kind of bothersome.

Hardly something to stop me from playing multiplayer and so forth.

Yep, I agree. I understand why they did it, but I just love the look of the unmodified proton pack and neutrona wand.

Yeah. Purely an aesthetic choice. I am tempted to look into the PC version if there is a mod to turn off the upgrades (or rather, swap out the upgraded packs with the basic one). Just feels more Ghostbuster-ish.

On another note--while playing the game in front of some friends, we agreed that they should absolutely release DLC mission packs for specific moments from the movies. The most obvious example is the Evo Shandor Apartment Building, from the time you arrive to the actual fight with Gozar. You arrive with a police escort, playing one of the actual ghostbusters. Maybe even make you cross the streams manually (take a little bit of maneuvering) at the end.

Of course, you'd probably have to do things like fight ghosts along the unending stairway to make it, you know, fun...and you wouldn't have any of the upgrades except those for the proton pack (maybe the Boson dart?). But a dragged out fight with Gozar would be awesome, before Stay Puft appeared--maybe Stay Puft throwing minions at you to eliminate on the top?

Use the original soundtrack for dialogue (could be hard for licensing issues). Am I the only one who thinks that would be awesome for a one-mission pack? I would totally purchase that.

You could do something similar with certain scenes in the second film as well. Maybe even throw in the large 'good' slime tanks.

I would normally say "I'm absolutely going to pick that up," but upon rewatching the original Ghostbusters, I'm really wondering if it's not going to look horrible on Blu-Ray. Really, there are some effects (matting, the early proton stream effects) that don't seem like they'll hold up well.

I mean, I still love the movies, and still find them a pleasure to watch, but some things look worse when given the BR treatment. I guess it's up to how it holds up in 'remastering'--there may still be hope yet!

    *crosses fingers*

Finally saved enough to get this game, and I dont care if it has its flaws - its my game of the year.

It's just almost perfect, and it really genuinely seems like I'm a ghostbuster when I play it. I love it.

    My two biggest complaints:

#1 - The firehouse is pretty lacking. I was hoping the days of 'immovable cardboard boxes' were behind us, but they're so prevalent in the firehouse. And the fact that you can not interact with ANYONE is pretty lame. I mean, it said "Go to the Ecto-1 when ready", and I figured sweet, time to explore. Well, short of running around, there isn't much to do at all. You cant talk to anyone, touch anything, or go anywhere thats really cool (like the room to the back with the ghostbusters 2 logo in it). Also wish I had a way to change my jumpsuit, like a locker.

#2 - Some of the cutscenes make little sense when they kick in. Honestly, the one where Peter is picking up Illysa off the museum floor I thought was an error, because last I knew I was chasing down a ghost that had grabbed her. No idea how she got on the floor, let alone in Venkman's arms.

But again, overall, if this game is kept alive with DLC, I will be the happiest person ever. I really, really hope that if the original cast had enough fun doing the voice work to consider a third MOVIE, they'd at least consider a second GAME too.

Nah, I was doing that. Basically they stay tethered and don't move while in stasis, then once the stasis wears off, it's instant slime dunk.

And as my brother pointed out, the Ghosts really should have some better noclipping. I've ghosts on two separate occasions get stuck in a wall.
