You might as well choose, like, Killing Zoe or something if you want to come up with something nonsensical and pithy like that.
ok, "only great" is excessively rude.
but Antonio Banderas delivers one of my favorite among his performances, and Tarantino's cameo is not as grating as usual... to me that's pretty much his best showing.
I honestly don't remember any of his cameos since Pulp Fiction (which was a whole lot too much and I agree that his manic overacting is grating even in small quantities).

FUCK
he is a corpse in it, I didn't know. oh well. that shouldn't count and if anything is making a joke of himself on purpose.
Tarintino gets shit because he's basically girl talk who acts as if he were beethoven.
podly you don't really think that do you?
I think he's a self-aggrandizing, pompous prick who gets most of his inspiration directly from your standard postmodern blend of auter-homage and low-culture kitschery. Don't get me wrong, I greatly enjoy Tarintino flicks. But I personally can't stand the man, and I get annoyed by the praise that he gets for blatantly using shots and devices of other directors.
okay so you don't really think that.
I don't feel the same as you but I have no issue with that outlook. calling him girl talk, maybe I misunderstood, but seemed like less than what I actually expected you to think of him.
girl talk is a pretty big insult
really he isn't meriting of that kind of insult.... but he is a pretty self aggrandizing douchebag. cameo in every movie? come on....
he's not in inglorious basterds
and I don't know that just doesn't bother me I guess.
I know a lot of people it doesn't bother, I'm just fussy I guess

I feel like being a director and also having a cameo in a movie isn't really that egotistical. If they like acting, why not? They're directing the movie. Being a bad actor and putting yourself in every movie you direct is something else.

Hitchcock would never do something like that.
tarantino:hitchcock::heineken:something better
someone bought me reservoir dogs for christmas at my office this year... seriously. mistakenly believing that I am a big tarantino fan or something....
Well considering that Hitchcock is on the short list of like the five greatest film directors of all time
of all time
It's still pretty high praise for Tarantino to be in the same sentence with him. I mean let's cede that Tarantino is no Akira Kurosawa and compare him to his contemporaries. Who do we have?
Fincher. Singer. Wes Anderson. PT Anderson. Gilliam. The Coens. Michael Bay. Todd Zolens. James Cameron. uhhh that Mormon dude who hates humans...

well he isn't a good actor.
he has learned that, though.
He's not really terrible, either. Plus he never has a big part. If he starred in it and directed it, that makes me think he's kind of a douche. But he doesn't.

I mean he stacks up pretty well IMO.
I will agree tarantino is less horrible than that Nancy Singer bitch
seriously fuck the fake and totally misogynistic chickflick genre
but he is less great than others of my generation make him out to be

in one sequence in Ran he basically locked a poor unsuspecting cameraman in a burning bamboo castle with no notice.

Hahaha awesome. I think also for Ran he made them rebuild an entire castle because they used the wrong kind of nails.

No. We're considering approaching the UN for a declaration of war crimes on the US because of this.

It is still sweet as hell, though, lord do I love that show.
I was thinking the same thing.
Once again, with him and Tarantino, I've never seen them in a role in their own movies that didn't work.
It's not a Dean avatar. It's a whistle avatar.
