It's funny, centipedes are one of those animals that just totally unnerve most people. Probably has to do with the long body and many legs; like a cross between a snake and a spider to people who fear those kinds of things.

house centipedes are pretty common in this area and they are gross
especially when you crush them and the legs keep twitching
i have always, and will always, maintain that insects should not fucking be allowed to eat anything other than insects/spiders
goddammit, a bug should not have the capacity to catch, kill, and digest a non-bug! fuck
oh also, one big thing i was worried about when coming to japan was the japanese mukade - this guy
these little darlings have a fairly toxic bite, can be aggressive and hard to kill, and if you do manage to kill it, it lets off a pheromone that attracts other centipedes to avenge its death! they say the best way to kill one is to drop it in a pot of boiling water
i mean, if you have to boil something alive to properly kill it, well, fuck that
luckily, ive only seen one since i got here, and it was outside on the downstairs neighbor's door. some people farther north, or in the mountains, have them everywhere though
what the hell is that. you are large in size in comparison to the spider, and unless you are homeless and really good at posting from laptops you see in mcdonalds there is a good chance you own shoes
