What the hell difference does it make who "claims" the Avengers?
Do you like it? Do you not like it? These are the only important things
I guess I consider the theater experience of a movie as well as the movie itself. But it's cool. You and me could just rent out the whole theater. But I'd still want to sit next to you. Cool?
Actually, speaking of classy things and movies, Kenneth Branagh is directing the Thor movie. I can't help but think that has some serious potential to be awesome.
Whoo, good thing this is about Joss Whedon. This could turn out well.
I was afraid we were in for another "Tim Burton could make this darker and more swirly/stripey!" movie. I'm still reeling from the whole alice...thing.
Also Cap I dont know if you're aware but Favreau was the first choice and he turned it down because he would have had to start working on the movie literally like the day after Iron Man 2 was done.

are there going to be giant colorful teddy bears in this one, too?

Joss Whedon's writing has always struck me as very American
Classless and trying to hard? Yeah me too.
here let me use the phrase "betwixt my loins" in a sci-fi film. that will certainly be "cool"!!
If anyone has used that phrase in an attempt to be cool, it's Joss Whedon. The character who said it was probably playing with a lite-brite and he probably just said it because "OMG he's so random, lol!"

It was part of the faux-old-timey speak he did in Firefly because it was kind of a Western

and you know damn well he wrote that character purely to get sweaty nerdy 20 somethings to masturbate to her
Wait her? see this is the problem, I was actually thinking of Topher from Dollhouse when I wrote this.
i liked ultimate thor when it was a question left up in the air whether he was really a god or some kind of mutant or just a crazy person with stolen technology or what
i sorta wished they would've just left it that way

you can only string something like that for so long, it would have gotten tiresome pretty quickly if they had not addressed it.
im sorry, I lost interest in the thread when someone mentioned that firefly was good
this dude is so fucking edgy
look at how edgy he is
just being completely honest because firefly sucked
Yeah, Firefly is right up there with Dollhouse. The premise is cool, the overall story is cool, but you have to sit through the mostly terrible dialog to get anywhere.

well that sorta brings me to my other thing
which is i'm not a huge fan of the idea of comics that go on forever.
the one thing I have to say about Joss Whedon is that he looks like an overgrown toddler
I think his work reflects this
That dosn't even make sense.
I once heard him describe his creative process by saying the phrase, "it ends in a sword fight because there HAS TO BE a sword fight" as if he was 5 and playing with action figures
I don't think his work is bad or anything, just saying Whedon's an overgrown toddler
Also, this Frank Brak guy. I don't know who he is, but he's got it goin' on.

Ok but Whedon isn't writing the script for Avengers?
dollhouse had a cool premise but some of the episodes were painfully boring and oh my god eliza dushku is such a fucking terrible actress holy christ
like, for a show based on that premise, you needed a cast of highly versatile actors who could convincingly do like anything and shit
like, for example, the guy who played Victor? he acted circles around like pretty much the rest of the entire cast
but dushku was so bad and when the episodes were terrible on top of that and badly written and boringly directed and whatever it just compounds everything by a million

Right, buuuut even when directing Serenity, the movie he wrote, about characters he created, his directing was at best, mediocre.

because he's not a good director
i base this on the one film he's directed
and the multiple episodes of his tv shows he has directed over the years
he's not very good at directing things, it seems
writing? i don't mind joss whedon's writing
AXM was pretty great, and he wrote that
so a joss whedon written Avengers film i would be okay
with but directing?
ehhhhhh
Haha
Though that is not quite what I was getting at

I don't think you can really blame it on either him or Jeunet.

what Whedon stuff has Cap actually seen because he clearly hasn't seen Serenity
i always liked the original idea behind Ultimate Thor
i thought that was an interesting interpretation of the character

apparently you can't put times in embedded videos. Just go to 3:06 and pretend like it started there.

it was okay but it didn't have me going 'boy i hope there's an entire show of this!'
he's not writing it and enough good people will be EPs to do good
*flexes*
*makes videogame references on message boards*
