and there is institutionalized racism in law enforcement

my point was that i was very non threatening
i wasn't dirty
or wearing torn up clothes
i looked like a dude who maybe is not mentally ill or who is not homeless or who didn't just rob someone
which is to say that on top of holding me at gunpoint for no good reason, they had no real suspicion to stack with my having a gun to infer criminal activity
and none of those would be RAS, either- but in a city where cops practically make up what they want, that wouldn't matter

I'm saying that if I have a choice between cops harassing people open carrying and cops harassing people based on the color of their skin, I'll choose the former every fucking time.
I'd prefer they not harass anyone, but that's clearly asking way too much. And that sucks, and is ridiculous, but I think it's hilarious that so many of the people here are fine with so much of the fucked-up stuff cops do (to the point of making all sorts of excuses and justifications for them) until it happens to someone here. And unless Org was wearing a Star of David on his chest, I doubt the cops even knew he was Jewish; and even if he was, I really doubt they would have harassed him for it.
