Well, if we want to keep the Artifact because Gumpy's got attached to it, I guess what we need to do is have everyone declare Exigency and attack this thing with their highest Warfare specialisation.

I wonder- is it allowed to trade the artifact around and use it twice a round? HV?
Hmm, using the Artifact to set the Orbs on a target uses up a full turn so I'd guess not... don't you need a couple of actions free to transfer a point or token between factions?

I think you need the research unlocked in order to use it
Whoopsie
Someone get some more research on it and scan for possible weaknesses
The Crushestro troops fall upon the pyramid in a wave of big angry sledgehammers
Crushestro hiself leads the way, smashing aside parasite drones and cracking huge great chunks out of the pyramid's armour- its tough but not tough enough
PYRAMID MOTHERSHIP HP 164/200
Lazarus Inc Action 1/3:
Exigency
The drones fly alongside the cubes of THINK and do some scans of their own
They find that Crushestro is on the right track- the Pyramid's energy shields would block firepower v effectively, whereas mere melee only has the armour to deal with. Sheer kinetic force is the way to go!
...except for the giant goddamn guns of the Orbs, of course.
Enviro Corp. loans its remaining crabs to P.M.C. Inc., with a friendly note. "See what you can do with these, then. They're our pride and joy, but... we're no good at fighting."
Enviro Corp. sets its sights on trying to produce some sort of counter to the gigantic machine. To this end, they compare notes with all other researchers on the subject. They analyze the defenses of the Mothership, carefully scrutinizing data from the attacks on the mothership (both from the beam weapons and the physical assault) and the known properties of the distortion artifact, to try and discover a way to lower them. They work hard, pooling all collected data together, and research the how and why of those fields.
A flurry of quiet, low-key notes leaves Enviro Corp.'s offices in the midst of the crisis.
Enviro Corp. sends a request to Lazarus, requesting a few samples of the Tentacled creature. Enviro Corp. also sends a small request to Aurora Amalgamated, requesting samples from the Strange Humanoid.
Mostly flavor, for now. Enviro Corp. has ambitions for the future. Horrifying ambitions. Potentially in the near future. OHOHOHO!
The troops fight valiantly but the constantly renewing swarm o parasite pyramids taxes them
MOTHERSHIP 157/200
Enviro Corp. Action: 1/3
Enviro Corps team researches the Artifact of distortion and realises that the most effective method of damaging the pyramid would be to beat it with melee attacks and then hit it with the Orbs cannons. That way the shield is weakened even more than usual and it'd take slightly more damage
The alternative is destroying the artifact, and Enviro Corp determines that the easiest way to destroy the artifact, what with its wierd resistances to all forms of damage... would be to feed it to a crab.
I don't want to speak for V (where the heck is he anyway?) but to my understanding there's nothing stopping us from using all 3 actions for attacks. Although last time we could only declare Exigency once per turn, which was annoying!

I thought we had 2 local actions plus only 1 outside action?
I'm pretty sure that once you've travelled to an outside location using that action, you can spend the 2 "local" actions at that location. It's just to stop you from being in three different territories in the span of a single turn...

This is correct.
Yep!
P.M.C. Incorporated Actions 1/3:
The PMC forces assault the pyramid with crabs. This time
...its not very effective

Crushestro is pleased with the progress his men are making. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he paused for a moment before continuing the laborous crushing of the ship. "Keep going, men! we're making progress!"
I want to use some sweet sweet SCIENCE against this mother(ship), but I don't know how to apply myself.
I think I'm going to try prototyping or researching a genetically engineered monster to fight future invaders, with crab-friendliness, psychic powers, and unlimited energy. HeavyVillain, would that be more of a Science or Resources roll, or a terrible horrible idea that will destroy us all? Is Enviro Corp. sufficiently advanced enough to do something like this? I can wait, if we're not quite there yet, technologically.
He asks a good question V! Where do you stand on research and development in this game? Is it like the first one which Phil ran, where we'd sometimes get neat stuff if we tried to unify research?
Enviro Corp. decides it's time to get serious about research, and thinks about the problem at hand. Obviously, machines don't really have brains to destroy, so psychic powers are relatively useless. However, electricity would most likely be very useful in the fight against the machines.
Enviro Corp. finally opts to try and splice together some electrical crabs, in the hopes of combining their friendliness, appetite for technology, and a clean, renewable source of energy. What could be more innocent than these environmentally responsible creatures? They devote their top scientists and quite a bit of their resources to the task.
Feel free to have this result in... whatever. It's at least more productive than my current military options.
Progress does not seem to be going as rapidly as could be desired, as the scientists are not yet familiar with certain procedures, at least in practice.
Mr. Carb orders his hirelings to continue their assault. They're feeling mighty out of place, but hopefully their efforts will contribute something to the Pyramid's eventual downfall.
In all seriousness if you're too busy I'd happily volunteer to kick this off again V, what with being like the only other guy on the planet who has ran a game with this system.
It's just that it's been three months and everyone else seemed quite willing to carry on with it, that's all :?

Numerous research shuttles float around the perimeter of the pyramid mother ship, as they release drones to scan it for weaknesses.
Unless supernatural can be used to scan it that is?

It's not their usual remit, but the forces of Aurora Amalgamated go all out and assault the Pyramid.
hehehe... it's like ninjas riding T-Rex's

Crushestro Inc.
Actions 2/3 and 3/3:
The fury of the Crushestro forces knows no bounds as they gleefully crush AGAIN AND AGAIN
The pyramid begins to vibrate. It is preparing something...
Are you suggesting that crushing things is not the ONLY plan?
