Finally got metal for a new hat and I craft a Tyrolean. Which would be cool if I didn't already have one. So I crafted it together with my final Texas Slim Dome Shine and got a... Stainless Pot. Not only is that lame but I also had that, too.
So I craft the two pots together and got a Hustler's Hallmark. That's pretty fly. I just wish I didn't have to craft away a bunch of hats to get it.
I call the event hats, all of them, "shame hats". They are what I wear on classes that do not yet have proper hats. They are like unemployment benefits. It's nice to have and better than nothing, but you'd really rather not have to resort to them.

Oh lord, that last game with the overtime caps happening again and again. And they weren't even a 2ft overtime capping but the entire bloody start-to-point cap.

That was hilariously bad. People on the Red team should be ashamed we kept extending the map in overtime.

I've pretty much given up on ever receiving a hat via drop at this point.
Edit: and after all the time I've played I'm just now getting enough metal to be close to crafting a hat. Ugh
I'm in this boat. There's something very smug about taking down a sniper you've been dancing with from across the map. I'm sure people think I'm not being a very useful team mate but... *shrug*

Data sampled from 78112 unsuspecting players on Jul 17, 2010. Totals listed are representative of this sample, and not the entire player base. However, the percentages should be more or less accurate given the size of the sample. Numerical data is provided simply to give context to the data sample.
Its really surprising to me that 50% of spies use the C&D.

I need that launcher and the hat so I can start yelling BELLOQ over alltalk and then threatening to blow up peoples' caravans.
But seriously what kind of monster do you have to be not to like the softcap

That is utterly frightening how well that works.
EDIT: I just went and googled it. Don't know why I never did. Somewhat disappointing? But really, don't know what people were expecting.

Getting headshots is the bomb

it's not like I don't like the guy or anything
but I've been gone for like 3 months and never seen him before and I joined the game and he was like "T4CT is playing T4CT you're on the wrong team"
and it felt like that awkward situation where someone says hi to you on the street and you say hi back but you can't remember their name

So 60% of players have no non-event hats whatsoever and then some of you have tons of them for some reason. That seems really odd.
I prefer killing snipers with the flare gun.
that counts people who logged in once and then never played again
or who stopped playing before hats existed
and people who started playing after those hats came in
etc
etc
Its really surprising to me that 50% of spies use the C&D.
And 80% of medics use the Medigun.
