They forged millions of documents. The fine for doing this one time is $25,000.
haha like that means anything
they're going to issue fines of billions of dollars to the banks that they just bailed out with billions of dollars
(nah just kidding, a few people will get fired or resign and get their giant severance check. The american people are safe again)
That's not even gonna happen. The banks will go "Mistakes were made, blah blah blah, make sure this won't happen again blah blah blah We deeply regret blah blah blah"
and then nothing will actually happen
Seriously
They're already trying to pass legislation making it easier for banks to push this kind of foreclosure documentation through, so they'll probably just make it retroactive and no one will so much as lose their year-end bonus over this.
Nah, obama has already said that he'll veto it.
So they'll tie it into the next defense authorization bill and then if he vetoes it WHY DOES OBAMA HATE THE TROOPS AND WANT THEM TO DIE
because he's against millitary socialism

On Tuesday I got an email telling me about some kind of bad practices from Sallie Mae. Something about a lawsuit is being put against them for using an Auto Dialer? I haven`t been getting calls from them like usual.
I may be able to get some kind of money out of it. I haven`t really gotten into it.
Its a coincidence that the calls stopped when the lawsuit was emailed. Sometime around the first

Imagine the difference if an angry mob stormed Manhattan and strung up some CEO's and Wall Street fat cats.
The economy would be fixed by the end of the week.
Honestly. I am not an insane person. But the whole time this economy fiacaso has been going on I keep thinking "Didn't we start a war over tea taxes once?"
e: in all seriousness, your money in a checking or savings account is insured by the federal government up to USD $250,000.
e2: this is why no one really "loses" money when bank robberies are one of the most commonly committed and least often caught crimes in america.
e3: everyone just go watch Heat.
When Ben and I first moved and were opening our checking account, the lady at the bank told us they'd been robbed like 4 times in the first 2 weeks they were open and they never caught any of them and we were like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. We should get into bank robbing!

oh there are so many other things wrong with Sallie Mae besides how they make their phone calls.

dont banks only carry like 100k in assets at a time
If by 'bank' you're referring to satellite branches of, say, BoA, I think so. But any bank that has any kind of safe deposit feature, the figure is probably much higher than that.
So Congress just has to pass a bill saying 'giving them a free pass on this one' and we're back to business as usual, ya?
Aside from 'ignore entirely' I'm curious as to what Congress plans to do about this. It might just end up becoming a problem for the courts to handle on a state by state basis. Long, drawn out court battles could really hurt real estate more than it already is, so honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the banks were not held accountable for all of the foreclosures in question.
Though, BoA DID stop all of its current and pending foreclosure proceedings. Hopefully other banks will follow, and hopefully this won't get them off the hook for the shit they've already pulled

better idea would be to burn that house down after not paying your fire taxes
Though I guess they are all sitting on the US/Mexico border shooting illegals who try to cross.
B-but mensch! If we would just rise up and murder some dudes the world would get totally fixed! Honest!

If you're not actually going to go out and stab some bankers with a sharp object in order to affect change, then you can't suggest such radical ideas
even in a hyperbolic or exaggerated manner

employee does not have access
it probably varies from bank to bank.
the federal treasury in nyc is a bank. it houses a fucking shit ton of gold.
cash is an asset but not all assets are cash.
I pretty sure that on average a bank needs to keep 10% of money as money or near money assets.
The rest can be in loans or what not
