Eh, I severely doubt balance issues will carry through that prominently. Nothing wrong with denies either
The balance issues will carry through if they don't change the core mechanics, which they aren't. Without ability power casters don't scale late game, they simply cannot mechanically. As long as strength gives health and damage to strength based heroes, they will get huge late game. The imbalance is built into the games core mechanics.
Denies simply slow the game down and make things boring, imo. But, I can see how that is opinion.

Listen, it's one article and it's about an announcement. Plus 'mechanics' is totally vague.

"Valve's approach to Dota 2 is unusual in that the gameplay itself is remaining almost entirely untouched. "Our first reaction is to assume that [design elements are] there for a reason," project lead Erik Johnson explains. "IceFrog is one of the smartest designers we've ever met. He's made so many good decisions over the years in building the product. He virtually never makes a decision that doesn't have some reasoning behind it and a way to pick apart the logic behind it." This approach means that Dota 2 basically is DotA-Allstars with new technology.
DotA-Allstars' roster of 100+ heroes is being brought over in its entirety. The single map games take place on is functionally identical to the one that you can download for free today in the Warcraft III mod. Items, skills, and upgrade paths are unchanged. Some hero skills work slightly better due to being freed from the now-ancient Warcraft III engine, but Dota 2 will be instantly familiar to any DotA player...
The bulk of innovation in Dota 2, however, is ancillary to the gameplay itself."
Huh, you are actually excited about DotA with a new coat of paint? I'm surprised, Zombie.
Why is that?
Seems like a step backwards from LoL mechanically to me. A carbon copy of DotA brings with it all the bad design decisions, hero imbalances, etc. To me, at least.
They wouldn't bother picking it up if they won't do anything with it.
Didn't the article pretty much flat out state that they were not changing any mechanics over and bringing over the entire existing roster as is, only changing powers when not being constrained by the war3 engine made it function less buggily?
...Which is really the only problem with it right now?
Well if you like denies, casters that don't scale, poor itemization and general imbalance then, well, sure.
Wait, LoL doesn't have denies? Didn't know that, I always assumed it was concerned an important part of the game.
EDIT: Considered... no more typing in chat while reading things on my other screen and listening to embarassing co-worker childhood stories.
I'm 6'0", give or take, and I'm pretty happy with that
I would like to lose an inch or two, but not too much that it would drop me out of possible supermodel status.
Also there's nothing wrong with being cruel and sadistic (it's fun and awesome) as long as you realize it doesn't mean you can't be loving and caring too.

Just don't yell at him for staring at your breasts all of the time if they are at eye level for him.
hee
yelling is so passe
why yell when you can slap or spank?
besides, if he's standing unhindered I'm doing something wrong
The voice can inspire as much terror as the hand or crop.
Mori is what, 5'5"? I'm 6'0"-6'2", don't really know. THEN add heels.
I'm 6'3" and my girlfriend is 5'2". I have in the past worn heels. I make an ugly female but you'd be amazed at how few people will say that when you're effectively 6'9".
Wait, LoL doesn't have denies? Didn't know that, I always assumed it was concerned an important part of the game.
Yup, denies are gone. Last hits are still around. There is no way to keep the enemy team from getting money from tower kills, and the only way to keep them from getting the money is to keep them from last hitting.

A tall dude in heels is no threat, I mean you're super vulnerable. Like an AT AT walker.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Also, to be clear, denies are considered an important mechanic in DotA in the way that if your opponent denies and you do not you will pretty much lose every single game you play.

I was on watch for Mark Hamil and I would have punched first.

I'd shake that mans hand, if only because he's my favorite joker and Luke was a huge part of my childhood.

When your SO is that much shorter than your, you are contractually obligated to use them as an arm/head rest.

i am 5'3" and she was like 5'10"

Honestly, I used to worry about height. Then I met you, and you're awesome and fantastic enough to make up for any issues I once had. You are the best

She thinks you're a midget, Moriarty. Don't take that shit.
Sorr-ee I couldn't quite remember.
There weren't any problems.
Well, there was one problem with a certain sexual position that we couldn't pull off very well when we tried, but that's not a really big deal.
It's too late! Now I'm going to shoot blood out of my mouth!
