Trying to figure out what to do with the Brotherhood.

I am an energy weapons and science guy, but do everything pretty well now. I am trying to get as positive of an ending as I can, particularly for the NCR.
Consequently, I imagine the BoS could be a problem.
Should I let the new guy take over? What will he do?

Should I complete the quests for the old guy?
Or should they all die? If I complete the quests and THEN kill them all, does it make it seem like they all just died anyway?

Just a heads up, I ran into some problems with this:
If you replace the leader, and side with the NCR, there is no peacefull way to end with the BRotherhood. It's pretty much rampaging death and destruction time for the BoS. I really didn't like that aspect of the NCR final missions.. If you keep the original elder, you can work out a truce or something I read..

I can't really agree here. it seems like it at first but it's basicslly, main quest and companion quests, maybe a few side quests. I've played through several times and the game feels short. And now that I know there are multiple quest items in the same area I just grab stuff all at once. Vault 22 is a good example of this, keely, data, hepa filters and mantis eggs.

Also about how many locations there are. outside of the main quest locations most places are... well there isn't jack there. Maybe a skill book or some ammo. nothing that makes you say, "that's awesome".

What? You're insane. I put 55 hours into the game and I haven't even finished all the quests, much less done any other playthroughs. Even if you didn't take any time to explore and enjoy the atmosphere, which would be sad, it still would take you forever.

I finished off at 100hours on my first play through, did alot of quests explored alot and killed tons and tons of things. Went NCR and then took over with Yes Man at the end, played nice with the Khans, Brotherhood, Followers, Remants, Boomers and we all whooped the legion.

lots of stuff to do in this game.. LOTS

I will suggest not taking the "explorer" perk. Kinda ruins exploration

You know, I think of all the times I've driven into and out of Vegas, and all I see is mountains in every direction. But I guess it's easy to forget how much flat, empty land there is between the mountains on each side. Okay, the Mojave Wasteland is flat and barren. In between the parts that are mountainous (hilly). Also Red Rock Canyon is a totally sweet place.

    :P

Nevada is one of the most mountainous regions in the world. If you ever see a topographical map, it's pretty easy to see for yourself. Basically just a mass of parallel mountain ranges and valleys and nearly all of it desert. East of Reno or north of Vegas is just hundreds and hundreds of miles of rocks and dirt.

And it actually makes sense that there could be survivors in Nevada since Vegas is basically the only major city (and not even a slightly important military target at that) and bombing the rest of Nevada might actually make it less harsh.

Loading screens for everything. It's really killing my momentum. Whenever I have to go somewhere I start thinking about all the loading screens I'll have to sit through to get there.

So I'm having a little trouble making a hat in the editor and was wondering if anyone knows how to solve this problem:

The hat is identical to Eulogy Jones' hat, it uses the same meshes, textures, everything except the item enchantment effect.

However, when I equip the item in game, the hat does not go on the top of my head but rather hovers to the left side of my characters face, sideways. I used the console to give myself Eulogy's hat but it equips fine.

I tried messing with numerous data fields just to see what would happen but it hasn't changed. I am tremendously confused.

Boo! Guess that will teach me not to put steam in offline mode when there's a storm, heh.

Ya know, adding mounts/vehicles to a game engine that dosn't support it if really hard, but... Oblivion had horses... so, even if the player couldn't have one, if woulda been Awesome if...
you recruited the Great Khans to join you, and they came riding in on horseback breaking through the legions lines like the Boomer's Bomber, and the Remnant's Vertibird.

    As for interesting bugs...
I killed Ceaser, looted 'The' Platinum Chip, then killed Benny, and looted a second one... wonder if I can find bugs like the more-than-one food sanitizer, where a script fails because I don't have 'a' chip, I have two.

My gut tells me to support Mr. House, because he in the end has humanities best interests at heart...but I've sent quite a while building up my NCR faction, and I really don't want to bail on it. I am sort of behind their cause at this point, as I feel they've shown themselves to be the last practical democracy left in North America.

Once I've gotten to "For the Republic Part 2", where they want to take out Mr. House, is there anyway to give Mr. House the platinum chip without pissing off the NCR?

On all three factions, you can do up to part 2 before you get locked in. You'll get a mini-objective telling you this when you start part 2 of any group.

I've had companions disappear on me a number of times, but the advice that Llama just posted worked for me earlier today. If you can repair the elevator at Vault 22 (it's the one with overgrown vegetation), try skipping around to different floors. It seems to have the ability to spawn your companions directly at your side, since I hadn't visited it prior to my companions disappearing.

Barring that, I know there are a few console commands that allow you to warp to your companion, though if you're on a console you may be out of luck.

Hopefully come up with some fix for disappearing companions because it's seriously happened to me on 3-4 different occasions and it's almost as irritating as the disappearing savegames.

Meltdown is the best perk there is. Using the named Gauss rifle I killed three centurions with one shot...

During my current runthrough (normal guns) I have the Gobi rifle, but I don't use it, I use a regular sniper rifle instead. Why? Gobi rifle's the wrong color, doesn't match my desert ranger armor.

I think I'm getting to the point where I should shelve this thing until an expansion comes out or something.
