You know, I was thinking the other day how much better writing in video games needs to be.
It really would help leaps and bounds I think if the Non-player characters weren't solely dependent on Player input and decisions for their own growth. But then, would it just feel scripted and pointless when and as they change if it wasn't as a direct result of something you did?
I don't know. Interesting questions.
FFXII had characters who dealt with their problems and grew like rational adults, and people complained that there was no character development.
People are retards and like excessive amounts of drama and poor choices in their characters, this isn't anything new

Man I really liked FF12. For once it was a FF game not about some sappy love interest bullshit but actually about an on-going conflict between two warring nations and somebody who just wanted to unleash a superweapon that would probably destroy the world.

This.
Everytime a game get's a "10/10" and reviewers wax on poetically about it's story and shit I just roll my eyes.
People are easily fucking impressed now days.
My favorite part of ME1 was the Luna mission and not because it was super awesome or anything but because it's the culmination of tons of other subtle bits thrown throughout the story.
Then I translated the broadcasted binary at the end of that mission and just kinda sat there and thought about what had just happened.
That's decent writing.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.
My boss' wife wants a Kindle DX for Christmas, so of course this falls to me to purchase. I'm reading the reviews on Amazon and oh god, they're brain poison. "It fell off my coffee table and the screen smashed and they want $250 to replace it ARGLEBARGLE AMAZON SERVICE IS AWFUL I SHOULD GET A FREE ONE" over and over and over.

Dude I'm ready for some goddamn turkey.
And mac and cheese, and cranberries, and gravy... Oh gods! The gravy, pouring from that porcelain container like a waterfall of salt and butter...

In fact I kind of don't give a shit about any of my crew except Garrus.
Tali is cool but I don't think I'd miss her if she never came back.
Garrus is my favorite so far.
Cool, cool. How far in are you, btw?
I've done...
Noveria, Feros, dig site, Luna, Cerberus, biotic cult, Shepard's background quest (for me it was talking down the suicidal slave), and Garrus's serial killer doctor quest.

I hope things go well
Didn't some guy just randomly come up to her and slice her face up or something?
EDIT
Also, Ed Norton is in this film with a Boston accent. I'm pretending that it's Will.
It was
Wrex was my road dogg. We did everything together
He backed me up so well.
Then I start ME2 and I am like
I could potentially be up for a bit of the ol' tee cue this evening.
This is in fact the "staring contest" of the future.

It was pretty epic.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
What was the binary?
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
I liked Kaidan as well. My crew was basically Kaidan, me, blue chick.
But mostly I did all the work and they were useless. ME2 is much better. Writing and characters and gameplay and everything.
Whoa, that's a nice coupon

I'm going to sleep on a pillow of bread rolls...
Garrus acts like he had an abusive father.
Male shep or femshep?
I think I'd like Kaidan better if I were a male shep. He's trying way too hard to get in my pants and it's kind of creeping me out.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
HELP, I think. Over and over.
Cool, cool. How far in are you, btw?
I figured as much. Pretty neat.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Male shep. He was my bro.
Like in Dragon Age Alistair was my bro.
I like Bioware's bro characters generally.
Fuck Kaiden. Fuck Carth. Fuck the entire oeuvre of that voice actor
Yes, parricide is fun, and he should be happy about it!
Being misunderstood is hardly a barrel of laughs either, and Wrex doesn't suffer fools.
i am so not excited for thanksgiving.
oh well. i am poor.
