That's probably part of what has me remembering him like that. This post I made a bit ago has had me trying to recall the the things that took place in DC vs Marvel and the Amalgam books that came out of it.

Well, they made a suit that matched Tornado's powers and could reprogram him. Not so different than making a Superboy to take Superman down. They seem to be looking for ways to counteract members of the League.
It's not the fact that there are metas. It's the fact that the metas that are around aren't directly under Cadmus/The Light's control. Which the Blockbuster serum fixes.
Superboy will grow, thats part of what this next episode is about. Hes pretty pissy and angsty and confused about life in general right now, give him time.
He'll be wearing a leather jacket and or punching the walls of reality in no time

You should take this as a lesson to always keep a large pot of pitch on a low simmer. That way you can bring it to a rolling boil in less time when it's needed.

I've seen two episodes of this so far. It's pretty good!

I have issues that the girl had a moped while the guys had motorcycles
ok i really liked this episode. lots of cool things i'm too lazy to touch on.
also, when i was younger i did the same prefix/suffix line of thought, so i really enjoy that bit. i concede that it goes a bit overboard when others use it too.
megan was again adorable when she freaks out at flash's freak out. and hey, no hello megan this episode so i guess other people will enjoy it too.
uh, not to be a creeper, but i liked the motorcycle outfit and I'm gonna go see how it looks on my DCUO character now. hm... thinking about it more as i type this, i hope it looks good like in young justice and not bad like x-men movies, considering i guess they're both leather suits
