    I'd imagine it was a case of "Since you're the boss of a place my son spends a lot of time on this internet thingy, you can cancel this other internet doohicky where he wastes time. Also fix my email."

    Forgive my presumption, and I would be shocked if this had not already been mentioned, but why not charge for a name change like Xbox does? Perhaps during the Child's Play drive, give $20, get a name change. That'd get rid of the people who just want to change their name from "AwesomeMcCool" to "AwesomeMcCoolGuy" and raise money for kids.

    Although if a name change buggers the database, that'd still cause problems...

    one of the auction items in this year's Solid Saints auction for Child's Play was a name change

    in case you hadn't noticed, a name was changed
