Here's a list of what I think will win. What's in lime is what I'd like to see win. The cases where it's just lime are the cases in which I think what I want, and what will happen, will be one in the same.

    Best Picture
    'Black Swan'
    'The King’s Speech'

    Best Director
    Darren Aronofsky'Black Swan'

    Best Actress
    Natalie Portman'Black Swan'

    Best Actor
    Colin Firth'The King's Speech'
    James Franco'127 Hours'

Best Supporting Actress -- this and Best Picture are the only categories where I'd be happy with just almost whoever they choose. The below performance were all fantastic. Regardless of the outcome, I've nothing but respect for these three women.
    Melissa Leo'The Fighter'
    Hailee Steinfeld'True Grit'
    Jacki Weaver'Animal Kingdom'

    Best Supporting Actor
    Christian Bale'The Fighter'

    Best Animated Feature Film
    'How to Train Your Dragon'
    'Toy Story 3'

    Best Foreign Language Film
    'Biutiful'Mexico

    Best Original Screenplay
    Christopher Nolan'Inception'
    David Seidler'The King's Speech'

    Best Adapted Screenplay
    Aaron Sorkin'The Social Network'

    Best Documentary Feature
    'Gasland'

    Best Original Score
    'Inception' Hans Zimmer
'The Social Network' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

    Best Film Editing
    '127 Hours'Jon Harris

    Best Visual Effects
'Alice in Wonderland'Ken Ralston, David Schaub, Carey Villegas & Sean Phillips
'Inception'Paul Franklin, Chris Corbould, Andrew Lockley & Peter Bebb

    Best Cinematography
    'Black Swan'Matthew Libatique
    'Inception'Wally Pfister

    Best Sound Mixing
'Inception'Lora Hirschberg, Gary A. Rizzo & Ed Novick

    Best Sound Editing
'Tron: Legacy'Gwendolyn Yates Whittle & Addison Teague

    Best Costume Design
    'The King's Speech'Jenny Beavan

    Best Art Direction
'Alice in Wonderland'Production Design: Robert Stromberg; Set Decoration: Karen O'Hara

I am going to go out and say it: I believe the King's Speech will win best picture over the Social Network. Not because its a better movie, but because its produced by Harvey Weinsten. Harvey Weinsten has one singular Hollywood talent, winning Oscars. Guy can campaign better then anyone.

Natalie Portman for best actress, because I can't think of anyone else thats had her level of buzz.

Edit. crossposting from the film apreciation thread. Didn't see this one.

Cross posted from the film thread:

    My Pics:

    Best Picture: Social Network
    Best Director: David Fincher
    Best Actor: Colin Firth
    Best Actress: Natalie Portman
    Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale
    Best Supporting Actress: Haliee Steinfield

It probably won't work out that way though. Those seem a little to obvious (with the perhaps the exception of Social Network winning over King's Speech).

Question: remember when Stu's Song from the Hangover got nominated for best song last year?

I didn't get to watch the awards, but doesn't every nominee have to perform the songs onstage? Did they play that song, and if so, is there video of it floating around somewhere?

    This opening skit is awesome.

    "I loved you in Tron"

    "Say this movie!"

    "And this movie"

    Edit:
    "You just got Inception'd!"

I'm tired of constant whithering snark and cynicism about the Oscars, twitter is being abominable about it. Everyone knows what it is, just enjoy it or not at this point. I guess it's because the ability to commentate to an audience is now pedestrian. Not everything is coated in an unctuous layer of irony. I like to enjoy things for what they, occasionally, I suppose.

So would I. I haven't seen TS3, I'm sure it is fantastic like everything Pixar has, but HtTYD was really good as well and I'm tired of Pixar dominating the category.
