I thought it was really odd that the admirals were allowed to attack and nearly kill Luffy and the whole submarine. The Red Hair pirates were right there! and clearly able to stop them, but chose not to?

The little character montage towards the end of the episode just solidifies how great Oda is at creating distinctive character models. I know the art sometimes puts some people off, but it's amazing just how varied even the ancillary characters are.

The green databook is great at showcasing this. Oda just has these little offhand scribbles and sketches that are incredibly distinctive. Seeing all of Jinbei's prototypes and the CP9 lineup silhouette is a real treat.

There are two pirates (one in Shanks' crew, one in the allied fleets) that have monkey's on their back. Wonder if they're related.

Nami's reaction to Hodi makes me think she might end up fighting him later. Given her past, it would be fitting if she was the one who put an end to "Arlong's will".

We see that Hodi doesn't share Arlong's concern for his shipmates. I'm sure we'll see that brought up later on.
So, next chapter....
Hodi vs Zoro? Daaammn. I can only see this being interrupted - if Hodi's the main villain of this arc he can't be taken out already, but I can't see Zoro losing his first major fight post upgrade either.

Zoro has some serious balls.

The arc could totally continue even if Zoro beats Hodi here. In fact, it's just the sort of thing that Oda would do to keep readers on their toes!
Luffy and Zoro re-affirm position of being badasses.
Looks like Luffy doesn't have to go into full gear 2 to use jet attacks. We saw this in the reunion arc, but it's nice to see it more in action.
I am liking the way this arc is playing out so far
I had to laugh at Luffy saying "I'm really beginning to hate this island" in what I perceived as a frustrating, impatient tone. Just so much wasting his time!

He's also getting more and more annoyed at Scaredy Cat.

I loved that part:
Hodi is dangerous because of the lengths he will go to uphold his ideals, that might be what Jimbei wanted to warn Luffy of.
