Here's the bill, if anyone wants to take a look (the second link has the added sections)
SEC. 1746. None of the funds made available to the
Environmental Protection Agency by this division or any
other Act may be expended for purposes of enforcing or
promulgating any regulation (other than with respect to
section 202 of the Clean Air Act) or order, taking action
relating to, or denying approval of state implementation
plans or permits because of the emissions of greenhouse
gases due to concerns regarding possible climate change.

That way republicans can shift the blame when the shutdown occurs

Earlier this year, when my previous career was behind me and I was deciding what to do with my life, I narrowed it down to two choices. Surgical Tech or Forestry Services. It was a tough decision.

Then I realized that people always get sick while national parks and the like keep getting smaller and smaller and their budget gets more and more pathetic.

The shutdown could last for only a day or so, or it could go on for a week. It really could go on longer, but I don't think it ever has. It will continue until they reach a compromise that can be passed.

is there some kind of unbiased study to support that though

the best we could manage is somehow correlating SAT scores with political party, but then it would be a question of whether the kids really know anything about the parties or whether they are just mimicking their parents or something

I thought most republican and democrat splits were because of age splits. Like Republicans don't support education spending as much as democrats because older people are generally republicans, and democrats do because younger people are generally democrats. Etc etc.

Also free market vs government helped market and other stuff.
