so either he put a million drones on gas and didn't notice or he pulled drones away from the drop and click on the gas with them right? are there any earlier shots of that base?
but yeah even still he's a turd
Well he pulled them by clicking on a geyser, then cleaned up the drop with basically zero losses.
But was distracted by the big fight; assumed all the drones hiding on top of each other at the gas were killed by the drop.
Pretty sure they popped out of drone-drill mode next to the geyser when he quit.

Feels like the main reason Protosses were winning macro games vs Zerg was that Zergs were playing safe due to the threat of 4gate/nexus cancel 4gate/6gate/etc. Now that top Protosses are, for whatever reason (possibly partly due to the warpgate nerf) not doing those so much, Zergs are playing greedier against Protoss builds that look like macro builds. They seem to be taking much earlier thirds and pumping drones earlier, and there's just no way a 2base Protoss can keep up in macro against that.

zerg wanted to play a 'never ever attack' game for a long time, but I think they're closer to the truth now... I remember idra saying that mules and chrono boost allowed for sick timing attacks, somehow missing that many larva popping at once does the same. seems to have changed now.

Yeah I mean.
I dunno what aspect of the top-tier meta game explains it.
But these zerg are double fast expanding and making nothing but drones until about 11 minutes.
They're being super greedy and Naniwa's the only player who I've seen attempt to punish it even a little so far.

Unless Idra somehow gets over himself, then Losira vs Idra. Not seeing a toss getting past either of them considering how it has looked today, and Losira should win over MMA.

I think it might have something to do with the rise of roach/ling all-ins. Enough top Protosses have lost to them that they may be too scared to leave their base, which lets the Zerg do whatever he wants if he chooses not to all-in. It's an interesting dynamic, as if Zergs swing much more to the greedy side we might see Protosses be less passive and start to punish these builds more.
Rallying that void ray to the front was really smart, most times we've seen this bust succeed the VR has been on the way to the zerg base during the start, at which point you can easily just lose if they focus sentries.
Of course, moon focused the nexus for some unfathomable reason.

The other thing is that, as long as you have good scouting, zerg "greedy" builds are actually pretty safe. Unless you get super hardcore rushed, if you make tons of drones and you see a protoss army start moving towards you, you can just shit out tons of units in one or two waves and be pretty safe, as long as you have a few spine crawlers.
This is something I have a lot of trouble with on the ladder. If I don't pressure, I usually just get overrun after I get my natural up by shitloads of roaches. If I do pressure and commit too much, I'll lose my initial army and just get counter attacked. The trick, I think, is forcing zerg to make units but not actually attacking, which is tough to do.
Moon beats MC in a macro game and then does 2 badly-done all-ins and loses both. Wow. He was at 600+ minerals towards the end of that attack, and had half-a-dozen idle lings outside MC's base for ages.

Interesting build by Slush.
Worked really well there.
EDIT: And worked really well here.
This is the only spot on the bracket left where a Korean didn't kill all the Americans, :P

moon only plays amazingly outside of korea for some reason
This is unfortunately true and I hope it doesn't stay that way for long.
Totally blame the girlfriend for that

Not handled very well by Moon. Definitely could have won there.

MC v Naniwa up next, expect MC to take it. Would prefer to see Naniwa win, but eh.
My prediction : There will be a 4gate in this series.
Now MC vs Nani argh. No idea who to cheer for there.
Then he can lose to Losira later.
