If you go a little too far right you get a period instead of a space
And in the dark with my glasses off I always close my left eye to use my phone and Idont know why
Also Shank why don't you get on inventing some words
I am going to use the word "dorophonic" to describe the feeling of last fall because it immediately summons the sense of bubbles traveling through water in a thick-glassed chamber, like in Ada, or Ardor
I am going to use the word "bobolomonic" to describe the feeling of last summer, because it was bouncy and the pacing was very strange & quick but it was still subdued and very lackadaisical

I don't think I have those senses tied to eras of my life. Either that or I just don't get what you're saying. It's all just one big timeline.
so your memories of, say, fall of '08 have the same feel or filter to them as your memories of spring of '10?
you guys are making me think that this is one of my odd synesthetic quirks
it's certainly the right type of thing, I suppose.
Well we share it but we have a lot of things in common
And Whippy i'll add you aroundmonday because tomorrow will be busy
Or today
Whatever
that's true, we do, hm
something I've thought about a bit are salient features of the younger population on here vs. salient features of the older population on here
they can't be cleanly grouped together, but a lot of the folks around our age seem to have certain attitudes in common that are not shared by the older people but also are not typical of people our age

Yeah basically. Different stuff going on and I was a different person back then but it all just feels like memories.
gosh I can't even imagine
I think a "filter" is the best way to describe it
imagine if all your memories of certain time periods were colored particularly
like fall '08 had a very particular shade of orange and spring '10 had a precise shade of blue-green
but instead of colors they are...very, very abstract associations. Nothing like "SADNESS" or "CHERRY PIE," just an immediate surge of indescribable feeling paired with memories of certain periods
at least you people can remember things. Is there a word for clinically bad memory? If there is I can't remember it, natch. Like lite-alzheimers without the dimentia. I have that.
I've always secretly hoped we would turn out to be a super hero secret spy squad which I would obviously be ghd leader of
Never panned out though
if Matt gets his commune set up, it's not out of the question!!
I've been thinking about getting a commune (to use a very general term for a very specific thing) established myself, actually, with this land up in Bolinas--the money is there and the interest is there, I just need to talk to my farmer friends about what sort of work we'd be looking at

at any moment i can recite my phone numbers, my parents and friend's birthday all sorts of things, but yet i always forget birthdays and i have to look up my phone number every time i am asked.
I also once forgot my name while not intoxicated. That was not a fun hour and a half.

The only things I remember are pain and regret and forum history.

I am constantly surprised when I look in the mirror.

Very interesting.
I'd say the closest I can come to that experience is through music. It's basically raw emotion. Most of my classmates that are music majors have trouble turning off their "theory ears" which makes listening to music for pleasure difficult for them. I can easily shut off that analytical part of my brain and really feel the music. Pretty much all of my listening is for pleasure. Finding words for the feelings music evokes for me is super difficult though.
Also, to speak about what this thread was originally about: I returned DNF last night, the fucking battlelord on the dam just made me quit the game. I wasn't about to keep plugging away at a game that fucking sucked merely to say I played it.
There isn't anything left to talk about of duke nukem. it's a bad game that adds nothing to the market and now it's out so we don't have much to poke fun of anymore.
I think we've basically taken this thread to places it needed to go.

e: The only thing I have that could be remotely considered synesthesia is that I associate the word cake with a crackling sound.

I'm torn between a pb&j and microwaving some taquitos
I'm pretty sure I remember the solution to every puzzle in every adventure game I have ever played.
