I went into the office today to ask if the dentist is ok with me using some of that analgesic throat spray to help mitigate my gag reflex (I'm more concerned with that than the pain) and she said yeah it's fine
I mean, Daxon doesn't HAVE to worship my sacred cows any more than I have to his.
It's just, he's so consistently opposed to what I view as 'good' things...
it is very impressive, in a way
inspiring even.
Shall we just put it down to cultural differences? Clearly, us Europeans have superior cultures though.
European comedy - well, British and Australian, that's all I'm familiar with - is a lot more individual-joke-based than American, in my experience. British comedians are expected to say things that would be funny if everyone said them, and delivery is not considered as important. Whereas American comedians, like Chappelle, can get away without saying anything particularly funny, as long as they say it in a funny way. The humour is in consistency of character across time rather than individual moments of subversion.
The Prince sketch, for example, is supposed to be funny because of the way Chappelle acts, not because he actually says or does anything particularly clever. Whereas the Armstrong and Miller stuff is funny because it has funny ideas in it.

So what you're saying is American humour is based entirely on presentation without any content.
British humour has content, we're not too fussed about the presentation because the content is funny anyway?
Fantastic! I'm glad that we've sorted out that we, clearly, have better cultures than you.

Pony that sucks. I am sorry that your meds aren't helping you.
if i wasn't having to work tonight
i could take something stronger and chill the fuck out
but i can't be poppin shit like that when i'm at work, man
that's basically showing up to work high
I know the feeling. I hope it clears up quickly. Doesn't mean it will. Stupid pain. I think if I couldn't take anything stronger I would be down to my old trick of trying my best to just block it. Which is so not healthy, but it is a decent fall back. I figured you have a similar trick.
Ok. I trusted Senj so far on getting me paid wrt programming progress. I will trust him on the teeth. If he is right about this I am hiring him as a life coach.

Christ, what happened?
block out that idiot noise
doesn't really hurt
surprisingly few nerve endings in the area
They numb that part of the mouth before they poke it. Seriously, you don't really feel anything when they do dental work right.
The needle feels like a tight pinching, more or less.
Not really pain.

Yeah.
Although it ends weakly.

the injection is actually in the cheek part of your mouth and they'll use a local before doing it.

Damn, that's rough. My sympathies.
Abd: I thought the gaffeltruck was great.

the anastethic shots in the mouth hurt more than any shot ever
and they don't do shit on me atleast
fillings hurt like hell because they always hit the godamn nerve
At this point I feel like we're bagging on you pretty hard so I apologize but I was legitimately surprised.

As someone who was deathly afraid of the dentist as a kid.
Man up ya puss.
There isn't one, per se.

Must be inferior Swedish dentistry because that hurts way less than a shot in the taint before a vasectomy.
N...not that I would know.
Abd's just a pussy.
ARE YOU A PUSSY, CHU? ARE YOU?
I thought not.

Swedish socialized dental care, dude.
I had two wisdom teeth ripped out of my mouth while wide awake and didn't feel a thing
I may be a pussy
although I strongly suspect the shots just don't work particularily on me
I had five for when I had to pull a tooth and it still hurt like fuck
but really the shots themselves are unpleasant but not like unbearable in any way
just make sure the guy actually bothers to wait after setting the shot before wrecking loose
Dude, he's Norwegian. Just make it easy on yourself and call us all Scandinavians.
You're meant to wait for about 5 minutes for the local anaesthetic to set in, fyi.
Same shit.
Vikings it is!
