This is our anxious, sensitive cat that perches awkwardly to enjoy warmth
The other one
Same cat with broface, this is a thing that happens despite a camera flash. This cat does not ever give a shit, no matter how much you clap right in his face to get him to stop doing something.
So now that Gus has completely re-acclimated to inside/outside scheduled life, there was a funny bit in the beginning of all this that we both look back on.
After a couple of nights in, one morning he opens the door, comes up to me, and starts the pawing at the face and meowing at me to be let out. I laugh, look at him, and tell him 'fuck that'. He's got a catbox and food, he's fine. Since then, he has never begged to be let out in the morning, and waits until I'm ready to leave for work. I feel like I made a good first decision.

That's usually because that is precisely what happens!
On a glum note, dang, we're moving today and Mori says he can't find Sugar (the one on the right) anywhere. She's easily spooked and also very good at hiding, so hopefully she's just somewhere in the apartment, but she could've escaped.

Pets are hard to take pictures of sometimes, especially when the animal is black and autofocus is really slow to adjust.
Because this was almost an awesome picture
Have you read up on the new Lytro light field camera? I'm sure there's going to be some first generation awkwardness, but man, every photo always in focus? Adjustable focus after the shot? Very tempting.

I have heard of that but it is probably going to be very expensive and also not working that well at first.
It would be super cool if it ends up working really well though.
We did end up finding Sugar. Dang cat was hiding somewhere.
Moved her and Shara over to the new place last night. They seem a little frightened but they're certainly a bit more relaxed than they were when we first got them, so that's good.

she was actually born in my apartment, her mom was a tricksy stray who had wormed her way into our collective affections and, one fateful night, our home to give birth
at which point this lot
became our responsibility (there were actually five but I don't have a picture of all five)
We found homes for them but decided to keep one, we were originally going to keep this one
but I think somebody really wanted her so we kept the tortoiseshell instead
she is awful, she is just the worst cat
she is sociable and gregarious, like a dog
I have lectured her on her lack of aloofness but she simply does not listen
My cat always scratches the table when I've got coffee there and I never knew why. Never even made the connection with the coffee, I thought he was just weird. But that totally explains it. Though he also drank some of my coffee once, so I guess it can't smell that bad to him.

Ours are technically orange tabbies; mackerel, because you can see the Ms on their heads, but their striping is very faint.

also, your blue cat is defying gravity!
Our cats are cute, sometimes
I showed this to my coworkers and we couldn't stop laughing. So thank you for that

Mori sent me this, I guess the cats are being cute again:

No more kittens for us
Except calvin, the grey one I just posted. He is crazy.
did they ever stop trying to eat eachother?
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
No
It was only the one nursing on the other one, we had them sleep separately for a long time but then just gave up and let them sleep together.
Dude just kept nursing.

Magic
Sadly, I did not make this.

I know what you mean. One of our ours is a complete and total Cat.
The other is basically a dog. Talks. Fetches. Runs warp-fast/wild/derp-like. And I love him the more for it.
Yeah
Shara actually got out, but she was terrified of the outdoors so she just made it down the stairs a little before sitting down and meowing pitifully
I carried her back in and she freaked the fuck out. Got her in okay but damn, I have a couple nasty looking scratches on my chest as a result.
It is weird, she was sold to me as a Maine Coon, but everything I have read makes her seem more likely to be a Siberian.
Same, usually.
I love all dogs though. Dogs just want to love and play. Cats are usually selfish, entitled assholes.
Kittens are great, however.
Not always. Some dogs (especially certain lapdogs) can be assholes. And some cats are extremely affectionate.
Most cats aren't that bad, either. Just some. Same with dogs.
Anyway, apparently cats think coffee smells like shit. Literally.
