Wow Phlog nerf is brutal. I dont expect anyone will bu using it now.
In the grand scheme of things 10% for a flamethrower isn't anything. And the duration for the crits was a little silly. It ultimately doesn't change much.
And fun was had as a scout facing snipers with that backpack :rotate:

I don't know, that is 20% less damage than the Backburner, the other ambush flamethrower. It sure seems less popular from what I played tonight.
Honestly, I thought they were going to turn down the damage reduction when they do the taunt, which would make a pyro actually have to plan when to use the taunt, instead of just popping it in the middle of a crowd.

It's still insignificant. The increase in time that it takes you to kill someone after the nerf is negligible, and when you crit people still die really fast. Similarly, the 10% damage bonus on the Backburner is insignificant because things only die a small fraction of a second faster.
It's not like the Enforcer, where the damage boost means things that used to take three shots to kill at close range now take two (which is a huge benefit).
It sure seems less popular from what I played tonight.
It still got used a lot when I was playing tonight. I even used it during KOTH maps, including some good spawn camping on nucleus (W+M1 into their snipers to charge, taunt, kill everyone at spawn because they are dumb).
Rollers are red, chargers are blue....omae wa mou shindeiru
Friday usually works well for Honcing, yeah. I will try to be on around 8:30-9pm and then I will spam invite Spectre and he will in turn send out a mass invite to everyone on his list. It is the way of things!
Stuck up the first alpha of the Turbine re-theme, turbine2. It's still devtexturery, but even so it's still more TF2y than the original. Won't be around tonight, so if it gets played lemme know how it goes.

RC3 is up now actually. I went to check after I posted that and got side tracked posting in the TF2Maps thread about Stoneyridge...
I cant wait to see some time lapse stuff for our map, it has gone through some chaaaanges.
This the screenshot I posted when suggesting that the green line would be a ridiculously long sniper sightline, after which Hey You installed those metal panels on that bridge, and I have hated those panels ever since because they are horrible at accepting light.
And here's the results of my very first lighting pass:
I've got a bunch of the old vmf's hanging around, I'm sure Hey You has every single one of them somewhere. Could probably spend a day recompiling them all and taking screenshots.
yeah, I have a very large amount of the versions on my machine.
Not using revision control? Tsk, tsk.
I've told both Hey You and Crash we have to make another map after this one, just so we can do it properly with instances and some kind of svn/git repo.
I'm surprised we haven't had more problems with the whole "manually pass around a vmf".
These two scenarios represent how TF2 operates on the whole, from my perspective. I will get the kill, but where most people get away to kill again, I will have horribly suicided or left myself open to attack.
Anyway, what I had been doing was looking through my replays and these last three videos were the only ones of me not getting a sweet airblast on someone. I felt I should try and tie them together in some sort of pity story.
Unfortunately even the enforcer couldn't make me a decent spy. I'm much more of a run into the middle of a battle guy than a lurk at the edges and wait for targets to present themselves guy.

IS SO ORANGE.

Going back to "cp_paproject_a19" on this machine, I built this between the start and now, so there's even older versions on my old rig.
Hey You linked me some early-early screenshots awhile ago and HOLY SHIT is it a completely different map.
edit: paproject_a19 is dated 2/12/2011. lol.
Uh oh... I'm getting that feeling too...
Don't you see?
He'll be even more stationary!
It's full of pubs right now. I don't even know.

The sound he makes at 0:20 is the best.
(At the time we were all surprised I went through the window but now I see it's normal?)
In the first video, we see our Crash jump and then caber me to death and then live to laugh about it later with his good chums.

In the second video, we see yours truly jump and then caber some poor soul to death while simultaneously bringing about my own ruin.

NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! Oh bugger.
Those were the days.
Tossed the latest version up this morning.
