Was reading an interview with Megan Ganz, one of the Community writers. I like that she was honest about being relieved that 30 Rock's numbers in the 8PM slot also weren't that good because it reinforced the argument that it's the timeslot, not the show.
i watched this show last week it was pretty good even though i rolled my eyes really hard at the WILL THEY WONT THEY HAHA NO OF COURSE THEY WILL britta/lawyerdude nonsense
this was the first episode of 30 rock i've ever seen
holy shit
Yup.
Good times.
Of course, I haven't had that moment with any NBC comedy. In on the ground floor with all the good ones except the office, which you kinda just absorbed from the culture.
Which is why it took me so long to finally start watching Parks and Rec in earnest. But you guys are right. It's a fine, fine show.

Wait. Which episode, because they dropped that pretty quick.
I, for one, am so glad that the Shirley wedding stuff was set up, fleshed out, and concluded all in the same episode. Completely the opposite of any other sitcom that would draw that out over the entire season.

So no, they only beat like 1/4 of March Madness.
It's awesome that they topped Idol, although it's obviously thanks to slurping up a bunch of BBT viewers who don't care about basketball.

I'm sort of agreeing with natek, but I think it's because the season hasn't been as consistent

I didn't know 5 million people knew what Community was
and felt good about it
Considering it was night 1 of March Madness, being #1 in the 18-34 male demographic for that half hour is a pretty big deal.
get dem numbers

The real question is: will giving slightly more grounded episodes like this one to the BBT audience cause them to jump ship?
Probably not but we can hope.
Kinda makes it feel like this was their plan for the hiatus all along.
