You know, reading about the Foefire and something Veretas said about Rytlock's sword, I think I know exactly what's going to happen at the end of the Ascalonian Catacombs story mission

I dunno if it's what you think it is but yeah that whole dungeon is pretty boss.
It'd be nice if people who take support skills had their heals get bigger though. Like I got a skill that threw down a little area thing that healed allies in it for something like 150 health a sec. It lasted 3 seconds. So that's a whopping 450 health when everyone has 10k+ health.
And Water Elementalists with Healing Rain have similarly crappy numbers.

Self-heals are about 33% of your health or so on a 30 second-ish timer, it's more about staying tactical and retreating if shit starts getting too heavy
I am 99% sure I will be going engineer when the game releases, because akimbo pistols and dropping turrets is boss. Class reminds me a bit of the tactician from AC2.
Alright, I posted a thread on the forums. Felt a little out of place, all the other threads there were talking about events in general, while mine was "Man, this one event I did was awful".
Engineers, however, are pretty much locked into ranged, unless maybe the tool kit gives you a wrench to beat people with. I didn't try the tool kit, so I can't verify that.
GW2 weekend was fantastic. Got to taste most of the classes, and my first two classes will certainly be Guardian and Elementalist.
And I FINALLY got Zho's journal in GW1 so I can start getting my little moa chick. Freaking. I'm thinking "I know I've beat her in the tourney, but I don't have the book" I click on her to talk to her, no dice. So I figure I never beat her in the tourney. 10 tries later, I finally face her, and I get nothing.
... ... ...
Eventually I figure out exactly how to talk to Zho, and get my journal that has been there all along, because I can't remember how GW1 works apparently.
Man this game has so much potential. The only big complaint I have, that people aren't really mentioning, is dealing with the camera is a bit of a hassle if you play melee.

Not even melee, just in general every now and then the camera likes to freak out. No idea what causes it!
Okay, so my quick thoughts... I want to put a long post together, but I'm pretty emotionally attached to the first game and I just don't feel that I can give a fair review.
It's good! I was really very unimpressed with my first look at the game friday night, and I didn't get a chance to play Saturday, but my Sunday evening experience was fabulous! I never got out of Queensdale, but fuck if there wasn't a lot of content per zone. I see what you guys mean! Godslost Swamp was incredible, I battled the Shadow Behemoth(briefly) and thought it was fuckawesome, the underwater segment was incredible, and the design of the game on the whole was really very good.
I feel like the skills need a LOT of balancing, my Greatsword as a Mesmer felt substantially shittier than when I started using the Staff, and a lot of the utility skills look just not great at all, but that might just be me not getting a full experience with the game.
My main worries are loot: I got basically nothing good while wandering the overmap, a small handful of equipment pieces that I mostly couldn't use, and two actual light armor pieces(or was it 3? I forget.) Either way, the loot table was NOT satisfying, which made me sad. That, and the stuff I got from the Shadow Behemoth was hilariously overlevelled for a 1-17 zone. Seriously, the level requirement was like 39!
I'm definitely looking forwards to hitting Level 30 so I have a full skill bar, but I feel like the utility slots and the elite should be fully open by 15 or 20, so that it's faster to get a real feel for the game. Traits also seem cool, but I barely got to touch them in the demo. They look like they add another good layer of customization, though, so...
The events were really cool, I loved the Battle for Beetletun area and Godslost Swamp, the little message in the corner of the screen showing the area status was very nice, and I really hope that the other major zones have a more connected feel like those areas did. The Shaemoor fields/whatever/newbie area for Humans felt really pointless, with a lot of ass-grade events where nothing really happened aside from killing mobs, but it did invoke a nice Old Ascalon vibe, which was, you know, nice.
There has to be more world-shaking stuff, though. Events should change the status quo no matter which way they go. If I'm escorting a guy to grab weapon pieces, why aren't catapults firing at the Centaurs afterwards? Why doesn't an event promptly trigger with the Centaurs trying to break in again and getting pushed back, at which point the garrison charges forwards? The Beetletun zone had that feel to it, which was awesome, and it needs to be spread across the entire map.
I really like the game! I feel like it's got an incredible amount of potential, but it's still very beta. I can't wait for the next event!
I'd post this on the official forums but I can't find them anywhere what the hell. A link would be nice.
Something the game doesn't tell you and I only found out because Veretas said so: you can talk to heart guys after doing their quests and they have really good rewards on sale for karma. I picked up two really good green daggers off one.

also traits had a pretty noticeable impact, at least for me. Putting a few points in critical strikes I started getting a LOT more crits and killing things much faster.
also one of the perk things is a 10% chance to get Haste when you land a crit, and Haste is literally the best

Kate, I haven't posted feedback in the beta forums yet
but to sum up my overall experience on this game
I want to kiss your face with my face
forever
I saw people in the forums say that, but I found that difficult to do as melee.
it's likely an idea to shoot first, melee a bit, dodge, swap to ranged, etc etc
Now if they would only let us build walls...
I am now dicking around as a dervish in Nightfall, gonna work on that HoM malarkey going forward

thanks for letting us beta test your game, it owns. finish it up and launch it now!!
That's true, but you don't unlock weapon swapping until level 7.
That....seems a bit late to be giving people an apparently crucial part of the whole "not dying" strategy.
EDIT: I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I do like the game. I'm just nitpicking right now.
most of the enemies pre level 7 are so braindead that you can just spam every skill you have off cooldown and win
which is a separate problem
