- Working headlights (including daytime running LEDs).
- The game will make use of the Xbox One's 'Impulse Triggers' - providing different vibrations and feedback to go with engine roar or tire damage.
- There will be no night cycle, and no weather effects (except for mild fog/mist).
- Variable track friction depending on track position i.e on/off the racing line, or on the marbles. Possibly "rubbering" in of the track.
- Cars are now 'paint-able' in a variety of different materials from 24kt-Gold to Carbon fiber. There won't be any rust.
- The game will feature Drivatars, that will mimic your driving style and that of your friends, and also use liveries from your favorite artists.
- The auction house and storefront are no more, however designs will be available to download for free, and the creator will be paid each time the car is used with the livery on it, and there will also be a way to transfer funds between players.
- Cars will show wear such as blueing on chrome tailpipes, discoloration etc.
- Each car will have a customized career.
Updated and Returning Features:
- A new version of Autovista - called Forzavista - will be included, again bringing detailed interiors, opening doors and functioning features (i.e. active aero).
- Tire wear (now visible).
- There will be at least two road surfaces - tarmac and brick.
- There will be tire smoke, sparks and debris. Also the dirt on cars will show up these specks of debris & dirt. The paint on the cars will be more realistic as minute imperfections will also be simulated.
- Cars will have backfire.
- There will be active aero.
- New damage models.
- Tuning, upgrading, the PI index and classes & the livery editor will all still be present.
- There will be DLC, including day one DLC and free DLC.
- To quote the Microsoft store: "Dynamic damage, High-resolution damage modeling shows every dent and scrape, and roads and tracks accumulate tire rubber and debris. Racing has consequences; a damaged car or road can stop you in your tracks."
- Online multiplayer will be capable of handling 24 players at once.
Tech:
- The game will run at 60fps and full HD 1080p.
- Cars are now made from around 1300 unique materials, compared to up to 60 for FM4 cars. Plus it's been said that they haven't hit the limit.
- All existing car assets (i.e. 3D models, sounds etc) have been ditched, and the new game's car assets will be all new.
- The game will NOT require a one-time internet connection when a player first plays the game, however to complete the career mode the game will need the internet at some point. This is in order to download required content that couldn't be included before Microsoft's checks, and to download the latest drivatars.
- There will be DLC.
- Online multiplayer will use Smart Match™ matchmaking and Xbox Live dedicated servers.
- HeliosT10 has outlined FM5's Kinect capabilities in the following quote: "Forza Motorsport 5 will support Kinect through the use of head-tracking, voice hyperlinking for menu navigation, and all the unique platform features (profile-based facial recognition, etc.). That said, those that choose to unplug the sensor will still be able to fully play and enjoy Forza Motorsport 5.
"
- The tech and game/physics engine behind FM5 would be too powerful for current-gen consoles.

Steam: Kemlo
I was sort of put off by my spate of network issues at the start of SBC, and haven't even logged on since.
SC Cali- 2:14.7
TC Lancia- 2:30.8 (and that car does not like that track, very uneven)
Also updated most of my Club Garage cars save for the RUF (since my current version is broken), mainly the Cali, Lancia, Alfa and threw my Noble in there. Hopefully that will now avoid anything like what happened to Michelanvalo on Tuesday. Oh god, I'm so sorry for that. Oh god.
Speaking of, another crack at the Lancia gearbox went just as badly. It appears the choice is Huge Gap Between 3rd and 4th or The World's Longest 3rd. Also, I was reminded that the shifting point on all Lancias are terrihorribad after a taking a break in driving them.
I'll do that before the races tonight, just for pure scientific curiosity if a Lancia gearbox can be un-horribled. And yeah, race trans.
We also need to discuss and decide on what to do about qualifiers for the 'ring next week. Our choices seem to fall with:
A. 1 Lap before each race, normal qualifier rules
B. 1 Lap before the first race, normal qualifier rules, counts for both races
C. A point-to-point qualifier on a single section, normal qualifier rules, before each race
D. Screw the qualifiers, sort ourselves out
I'd also like to float the idea that do we really want to try to do multi-class on the 'ring? It's a difficult, narrow track with very few passing opportunities. Do we want to avoid the headaches and just run 2 single class races (which would also simplify qualifiers) ?
Also, we will run 'ring no matter the turnout next Thursday, since it is the final race of the season and we're butting up against PAX with any delays, so everyone try and be there!

I guess I really burned out for those three weeks where when I wasn't racing in Forza, I was editing videos for Forza. :P
Even though I do love chaos, I think that'd be the simplest all around.
Steam: Kemlo
We'll see how it goes, but if I can't race anymore, well, it's been awesome.
If there's interest, I'll flesh out more details later.
How about an MX-5 cup? Everyone uses '07 Mazda MX-5's, no engine upgrades, full roll cage, sport weight reduction, sport tires, stock wheels and sizes, non-adjustable upgrades only.
Personally, I have almost never had fun in a D class race, and never, ever, eeeeeeeeever had a fun D class race that wasn't followed by a feeling of "I never want to do that again".
Either that or Hennesseys and Squires.
Imagine a world where you don't get taken out in turn 3 (the moment after "no restarts" gets called because some other two asshats wrecked in turn 2 like 8 times in a row) by some asshat who doesn't know how to car, and even if you do get hit it doesn't instantly blow up everything on your car, you just get a bit of bumper rash because you can't possibly be going fast enough to do much more damage.
2 races, one TC one SC, no multi-class. Do as Kemlo suggested and set the grid for our current season standings using a parade lap on some small course or oval (also, I assume we want Knight to start in first etc. or do we want reverse?). I will try and get a run in to get lap times, but I'm thinking 3 (4 at the most) laps for TC and maybe 4 for SC.
That was the order I was planning on anyway. Figure slow-better-handling first and then faster-not-so-handling second.
So I'm going to back Groove's idea, lightweight C class cars on small and twisty courses.
Edit: Actually, you know what, screw that. Let's do B-450. Slightly stronger than C (425) but not as powerful as B (500).
I WILL NOT CONFORM TO YOUR CLASSES ANY LONGER, FORZA.
I've ran my TC and SC cars on the ring, I'm getting around 8 minutes in SC, and 9 in TC.
A good example is Camino Viejo Full, in C class there's enough power to get up the hills of that course with reasonable speed and fun. In D, you're just too damn slow to make it, even in the lightweight cars.
Once I noticed that I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the race. Pbbbbbbbbt.
(which is never based on how frequently I play these days)
Why on earth would we even do Camino Full in D class? I think the idea is to race tracks that are fitting to the cars, like the short narrow twisty ones we don't normally have any fun on because we're all going too fast to keep from wrecking.
Its not fun.
