considering the last movie Larry the Cable Guy starred in was a direct to video sequel to the Dwayne Johnson movie Tooth Fairy, I think you might be okay
I actually like him as Mater in the Cars franchise. He's dumb but has such a positive outlook and friendly nature and will always bend-over -backwards to help a friend. All in all a great character for a kids' movie.
Most people assume he's playing the same character as his standup act but they really only share the same fake-redneck accent.
