Persona 4 got some pretty good accolades back in the 2008 GOTYs too, though.
P4G is fair game just like OOT3D was fair game last year. In fact P4G is unquestionably the best Vita game available right now therefore that's at least one category that it wins without contest.

Yeah, there's huge achievements in storytelling, gameplay, and immersion in Walking Dead, Far Cry 3, and Journey, but you guys I just played the Halo 1 remake on 360 and man that game's real great

apparently the vita has some good games. but sony is dumb and doesn't know how to sell the thing because it's $250 and they will not drop the price. meanwhile the 3ds is going down to uh $160?
if the halo 1 remake on 360 was legitimately better than walking dead, far cry 3, and journey by today's standards and not by nostalgic ones, then why should it be disqualified from GOTY deliberations?
if persona 4 golden is the best gaming experience someone has had this year then that's that. if it still stands on its own two legs four years after its release then other games just need to do better

at least now you can get a bundle and get, say, Liberation and a 4GB card for the same price as a plain Vita
so at least you can save your game right out of the box
