Huh, interesting. It shows the infraction on my post but I didn't get one. I guess that makes sense.
That is my infraction for agreeing with your post. When I saw that it gave me an infraction I undid the agree in a vain attempt to ease the wrath of Geth but it was fruitless.

Does anyone know how moddable the combat system in RPG maker is? Specifically if a basic Magic-style duelling game could be implemented if someone was willing to put in the effort coding? Specifically having a deck to draw from, hand of cards, and cards that stay in play as well as cards played.
I'd like an rpg-style framework for my martial-arts cardgame and rpg maker would be a good shortcut to let me focus on the cardgame mechanics.
Ok, so I think this is a game development thread? It's hard to tell.
SO: My usual MO for learning a new programming environment is to go through the tutorials to learn the general flow, idioms, etc. I downloaded the free version of Unity and tried to do this, but I can't seem to find the material to get started. Can someone who has done this give me a nudge in the right direction? I keep clicking on the "tutorial videos" link in Unity and it just takes me to a general page. Either I'm dumm or the navigation of the reference material isn't that intuitive.

Yo @Orikaeshigitae, I went to look at medium difficulty's recommended reading, and I don't think it survived. What's a solid primer on the mechanics of game design that would help inform a critical perspective, not just a technical one?

out of all the posts in this thread that I wanted to agree with but refrained from doing so because ~infractions~ this one was the hardest to ignore

Oh, I didn't realize Jasc had started another dev thread. Sorry.
This is great, thanks. I haven't gotten too far just trying to implement the methods in the reference material.
Finally, my squad stealth turn based daemon hunting game will be a reality.
